Some types have a stainless steel spring between the vanes (the vane has channels for the springs), it is also necessary to fit the flaps with the mesh filter correctly, and the viscosity and type of oil must be observed (it is usually written on the label or it is indicated in the documentation - vacuum pumps have a specific type oil with the prescribed change interval.With such a large disassembly, all sealing elements are automatically replaced. Edit: I see that you have a pump head without a mesh filter, probably another manufacturer. Did you lookup the Spec. for vaccuum ability when new and check the rebuild for close tolerance with vaccuum gauge that is certified? Best for evaluation of pumps capacity.

There honestly not that precision. I’ve rebuilt a few vacuum pumps. Just keep the parts clean is the biggest issue. Never had an issue with parts not being lined up.
