David R Lentz, Columbus, Ohio, USA (Wednesday, 17 July, 2024) I have been binge-watching your entire KZfaq series on Airfix's 1:24th-scale de Havilland DH-98 Mosquito RAF Mk.VI Light Bomber kit. At 14:44, on the fuel bladders (as I had understood them to be) in Tamiya's 1:48th-scale counterpart, I used Humbrol Wine. It was a close analogue of the colour photograph of Mosquito Walk Around, January 1, 1998, Author, Ron MacKay, Richard Hudson (Illustrator (Carrollton TX, USA: Squadron Signal Publications, 1998). At 29:50, Raven's surprise photo-bombing you--when you explained to us of her sudden passing, it truly put tear in my heart--I remember my own sweet, dear kitties over the decades, all of them painfully tragic for each of them and me :( so I deeply empathise with you and your family.

Hi Rob, so sad about Raven, we lost one of our Labrador’s a few months ago and so can imagine how strange it was to see her on the video… In terms of the build it’s coming on superbly well and your attention to detail and the way you’ve replicated the various components is excellent…..with a few very helpful observations along the way for us fellow modellers too…..love it…👍 Best Regards Gary

Wow Gary, thank you and so so so sorry for your loss for your Labrador, what was their name? It is a huge amount to lose a pet from the house, they become part of your life and I do feel your loss so well. We also lost last year our two older cats, both 15 Harry and Nova, so was not a great last year. Speaking of the build, I cannot thank you highly enough for the very awesome kind comments, thank you sir 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

@@frontlinemodelhobbies653Hi Rob, Firstly it’s my pleasure to pay compliments where I and clearly many others who are watching the build can see the great detail, skill and work you are putting into this project…….after watching it I even bought a copy of your reference book……..just in case……you never know..🤔….😂😂 As far as our young lady was concerned (She was actually 13 and had had a great life) her name was Megan known to all as Moo. A brown Labrador and part of our three…a yellow called Tilley and a pup called Arlja (Black) She was rescued from a puppy farm and had been bred for along time before she came to us and lived the life of Riley whilst keeping an eye and mothering the other two and like yourself loved dearly. Rob, from your comments I don’t need to say how tough it is when you loose a pet or pets that after all are part of the family, the only thing I will say is just remember all the wonderful, happy and funny moments they gave you and you will feel better…….oh and when as a family you feel up to it, do like we did and get another……blooooody nightmare and soooo naughty but so much fun…..👌

Dear Rob, I suspect that any superlative I deploy in praise of your engineering and modelling prowess will have been used before and therefore would not not be original. Accordingly I will settle for the following: “Gor blimey- that’s bloody good!!” The cameo of your cat was rather touching- I hope that you retain treasured memories. Carry on sir!! Regards, Z

You are absolutely smashing it, easily my favourite modelling channel at the moment. The detailing is insane, very impressed, and yet again the banter is what makes your videos so entertaining, keep it up, o’er. So sorry about your cat Raven, that’s tough going, but I’m glad you kept that bit in.

Thank you so much Snapper👍👍👍 Yeah it was with a heavy heart that I had to do the voiceover, and that bit took me over 40 attempts to get it right and even be able to talk. I am also loving the fact that you like the banter, not many do, but I am keeping it, I think it breaks the video up a bit. So yeah thank you so much and stay safe and happy modelling👍👍👍

I intend to build my 1/24 Mozzy at some time in the future and the more I watch you're absolutely stunning build the more I realise just how much work is involved. I had always intended to upgrade it as much as I was capable as the Mosquito is my favourite WW2 aircraft by far. Thank you for telling us the main Book you use, I ordered it as soon as I saw it in you're KZfaq video. I already own a small stack of Mosquito books but none have as much detail as I found when I looked at the few pages shown on the bookshop website (I then got it on ebay as it was a fraction of the cost, always shop around 🙂) You're build is absolutely fantastic! Just the cockpit alone is a work of art! I will have to rewatch these videos again, they are a Masterclass! Fantastic! P.S. Commiserations on your loss, I know how much they are a part of the family😥

Thank you for the condolence about Raven, and you are correct, our pets and everyone else who has one is definitely part of the family, just a shame she went so young. Excellent, I am glad you managed to get the same book. It really does show some good details in there, which should help you out immensely. But if you do get stuck on anything for your future build, please don’t hesitate in getting in touch. Also the Airfix had missed a lot of details that in this scale need to be there. It would be awesome for you to work on your mossie and for both me and Lenny to see it . Again thank you for the amazingly kind comments, thank you👍👍👍

Looks Good. Very Big Kit. I have the 1/32 Tamiya not yet started it yet .Last Time I did a Model was the Airfix 1/24 th Huricane in 1980. Turned out good .Made the frame and cut away the panels. I when to Nanton Bomber Command Museum in Alberta ,Canada last month and they are restoring a Mosquto Bomber with the Packard engines will be restored to running condition. I shot video and interviewed the guys working on the plane. Will let you know when I post the video. Been following your kit Build with interest coming along quite well.

I don't like or trust superglue,but I can see the advantage of using it to instantly hold parts together then using normal glue to permanently glue the parts together.I normally use tape to do the same thing but I might give this method a go all the same.
@frontlinemodelhobbies653
@frontlinemodelhobbies653 4 ай бұрын
Yeah it has worked for me to get the bond, which is like having a third hand. I only do this as a few times the glue runs under the tape and messes everything up. Anyway give it a try and if you do not like it, then doesn’t matter, your way might be the best for you👍👍👍
