Thank you very much for your comment. The ‘Portrush Lifeboat’ text is a waterslide decal; every RNLI Severn-class station in the U.K./Ireland was included on the decal sheet supplied with the model, allowing builders to select which one they wanted to model. I selected Portrush because I visit there from time to time, and I see this vessel each time I go.

@@blackcat62 thank you for your kind words. Sorry that you didn’t have a good time with this build. I personally feel I could have done better with mine, to be honest. I did find parts of it difficult and often questioned why certain parts couldn’t have come moulded as one (i.e. hull, or superstructure as you say). The hull and deck in 5 parts was baffling if you ask me. I actually had to cut some of the interior away as it fouled on the superstructure.

Thanks for the reply. Glad it was not just me who had to carve out some significant chunks of interior framing to get the superstructure exterior even close to fitting.

Hi Bob. I heard this as well, so I proceeded to apply the decals with caution, however I found out that they went on perfectly - no issues. The same applied for the yellow/red stripe. Perhaps Airfix have improved the decals since the kit was released.

@@nathanlawrence5939 i purchased the kit last week from hornby visitors shop, do you know where i can find part 2 of number 8 the bow thruster? i only have 1 half.

@@bobsmith-jb5ni there is only 1 bow thruster. It is very hard to tell as the instructions appear to indicate 2 joined pieces. The part just rests between the hull, with one side more open than the other. I think this is how it is in real life.
