I tried the simulation of the so called "stressed skin" for the first time - and ran in some issues. I scratched to hard into the surface and the effect might be a bit too strong. Beside this I spent a lot of time in riveting the fuselage and wings. It was a great experience with this very beautiful kit from Airfix.
The metallic surfaces are simulated with several paints from alclad II and accentuated with metal powder from Uschi van der Rosten.
For detailing the engines and antennas I used material from Albion Alloys.
Regarding the music I tried something dramatically and experimentally irritating theme. Hopefully it's not too pathetic...

I can't even understand the level of patience to do this. Not only is crafting the model to this degree of detail time consuming, but making a stop motion animation video in the process and then editing said video with grade ''A'' quality??? Amazing! If I were wearing a hat, I'd tip it off to you good sir, well done!

I had one of those Revell models of a B-17g almost two decades ago. 147 parts. Tons of dedication. Tons of mess-ups and fixes.. and probably not even on level as the guy's video. Nearly a month and I was on the last steps of finishing it until I lost it all from an angry sister who took it and smashed it in rage.

First of all there is amazing editing, Second This guy added a lot of extra details to the weaponry, engines, control surfaces and also added realistic seam lines and rivets and Third he did this in stop motion which takes about 10 minutes for a few frames. this is the type of work the you never see now days. I cant say anything else except that this is amazing and best if not one of the best videos I have seen on KZfaq.

A creative triumph, and that’s just the video! As for the model build itself - many thanks, it has given me lots of ideas for when I get to this one in my stash; although I am nowhere nearly as skilled as you are, it still inspired me to try!

I've watched a few of your builds now after stumbling across one (thank you, suggested videos). I thought the detail that goes into parts internal to the fuselage that would never be seen was amazing. Then....I saw your engines. Holy crap! It's like they just rolled off the assembly line, ready to run. Absolutely love the stressed skin, as well. Great videos! Got my sub, for sure.

About a decade ago an olive-drab B-17 flew over Hollywood in the course of a long and slow 180 for a landing (Santa Monica? Torrence?) from the west. It was so low I could read the letters and numbers. Simply: Sublime. This build? Same. A B-2 did a Hollywood fly-over about twenty years ago. The earth shook. The sun was blotted out from the sky. Still the B-17 rules the skies. Thank you, Tom.
