I watched this video and learned so much. Your stuff is top quality and I know to make my 66 ride right I’m going to have to sell a few of my vintage dirtbikes so I can do it right. I’m going to try and do a semi resto on my car, it was my dads and I just want to drive it, it’s been sitting for 5 years since I lost my wife in now retired and Handicapped and am wanting to get started slowly on the 66, hopefully by the end of 22 she’ll be back on the road. Thanks again for your very informative Videos

Going clockwise with the Teflon should be the correct way. As you thread the adapter on it goes against the way you’ve applied it when it should go the same direction.

Thanks for commenting Marty. I am not trying to showcase how for others to do it to copy what I have done but more about the process that we go through and showcasing that part of it. There are many functions of the KZfaq video platform. You can play it at 2x the speed, slower, clearer picture, captions and many others. Hope this helps.

To run hydro, you need to connect to the leafsprings or torsion bars if you wish to maintain suspension. If you go direct hydro to the arms, you have no suspension to speak of, just locked-in up and down positions.

I forgot to ask, with the air ride does it ride better than say a beam with a selecta drop, it rides like crap now but I like the low look better than Stock for sure
@AirkewldVWs

Air ride rides great! But is designed for a cruiser, not something with power, that needs to stay static.

Is there no need for inner needing bearings on the swing arms?
@AirkewldVWs

We use Delrin bushings, we don't use roller bearings.

Im a bit confused you have the shocks upside down. Monroe Shocks clearly state the shocks must be fitted with the air cylinder on top and not more than 60 degrees off vertical or the oil reservoir will have insufficient oil level and damage the shock absorber . Only their twin tube gas shocks can be inverted.
@AirkewldVWs
@AirkewldVWs Жыл бұрын
We don't offer or use Monroe shocks, so I wouldn't know how that pertains to this build. Sorry brother. Happy Holidays!

With air ride, do you get the same ride comfort at different ride heights? I'm guessing the higher you go, the stiffer it gets?
@AirkewldVWs
@AirkewldVWs 2 жыл бұрын
The ride changes when the travel does. So if you limit it by extending the shock or collapsing it, the ride quality diminishes

I was impressed until he broke out the rattle can on those tie rod ends. 👎🏻. If I spent that kind of cash for a beam it better not have spray paint anywhere on it .

Hey Chris, thanks for the comments. In a production application, what would you do?
@chrisburnsed6349
@chrisburnsed6349 Жыл бұрын
@@AirkewldVWs , first, I do realize my comment may sound petty to most. don’t take my comment wrong your work and product is fantastic. Being ocd myself I was just disappointed to see rattle can being used and seemed beneath your standards. If rattle canning it was for cosmetics cerekote or something similar is cheap and would of been a better choice. It would of also been a better rust preventer. A Quality “Production” item shouldn’t have corners cut for the sake of getting it out the door for turnover. I have never bought an expensive quality item that was spray painted . Sorry for the petty soap box. I’ve watched several of your videos and I just believe your standards are better than that. Thanks for listening. 👍
@AirkewldVWs
@AirkewldVWs Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the clarification. But cerakote, powder coat, anything other than a quality paint adds hours to the assembly time because we don't make the tie rod ends. If we did, then of course we would. The "rattle can" we used is etching primer, paint in one and has a pretty great adhesion when we think of this service item. If we were building show beams, everything would be different. EVERYTHING. Production has it's limits so even though it itches, we try and not scratch it, at least, not all the time.
