If you're gonna run NVGs, be it fake tubes or SiOnyx Aurora Sport or some diy night vision that is mounted to your helmet, do not trust any of these to hold it properly, either buy a true Wilcox shroud or some copy that is made out of metal and durable. And don't trust those ARC Rails for your headsets, either run your headsets under your helmet or replace the arc rails with aluminium ones if you're planning to mount a 3M headset adapter.

idk, This 80euro High-cut fast helmet remake I got as a first helmet holds my Headset's fast adapters quite well, better yet can't get them out anymore that's how tight and sturdy they sit 😅

The main reason imo for helmets is GoPros and nods. Other than tham mostly cosmetic. I know it diesnt feel good to gen shot in the head or hit by a grenade but chances of you getting hit by a grenade is slim to none. Especially in cqb where you should be lobbing them.

Oh i thought they would be since they are ballistic rated and still in service, because when i built my british kit i tried to find one but it said they are illegal to own

The only way to know if a helmet is right for you is to try them on yourself. If your local shop doesn't have em, hopefully whatever online store you use has a generous "try and return" policy
