Hello Pilot ems, great, but i wanna ask something technical...i was told pitot tubes must be heated but static port may or may be not...i wonder why the A320/21 and neo maybe have heated static ports while boing 737 doesn't.... Hmm...isnt this extra cost extra maintenace or extra time or hmm...

Now, a jumbo that I drove through with about 80 km seemed to be suspended in the air, how is it possible for that plane to have a counter-wind resistance and to glide slowly like that?

Surely at 0.54s what you are saying is the power has to be increased to maintain the same airspeed? How can it possibly be the case that the nose of the plane gets hit with a force of 100 knots of headwind, and its airspeed remains exactly the same (all other things being equal)? Isn't that change in the Power a vital piece of information?

Hi amazing video...cool 🧑🏽‍✈️✈️🤘🏼 but I wanna ask is indicated airpseed same as airspeed? Also GS takes the longitudinal component of the wind true along the airplanes longitudinal axis....the other component will rotate the airplane or drift it...

Yes, I just wanted to talk about the basic aspect of airspeed and groundspeed, so I kept the video simple, so TAS is airspeed in this video! (Of course there are other airspeeds but that’s a whole other video!) ☺️

Thank you for taking the time to explain. I was jyst recommended this video after watching one that was talking about the difference of IAS, CAS and TAS. When you are saying “airspeed is the speed the AC has relative to the air around it” are you referring to IAS? That is still a little hard to understand. Thank you.

One additional question: my instruments would show IAS and GS which is more reliable? I thought GS? 🤯

One question: It wouldn't be that exact of a calculation, right? I'm imagining that with a 100kt tailwind, certainly all 100kts of that aren't going to translate into foward moment for the plane, right? I'm assuming some percentage of that WILL, but that likely a large percentage of that tailwind will also just pass around the plane? So a 250kt airspeed plus a 100kt tailwould would result in my like a 300kt ground speed. Is this accurate?

that is why it is ground speed not true airspeed i think it is used for calculation of performance for example take off and landing ground speed would be nice cause it shows speed of air moving through wings

No, in fact, it is translated into ground speed. The airspeed is relative to the air within which it is flying. So a 100kt tailwind wouldn’t change the airspeed, but would increase the groundspeed by 100kts 👌🏼
