@@dcdvs1583 your order is in its way! FYI you know those hundreds of clecos your buying are reusable right? Lol. Can't have enough. I'm sending you something you can wear and get dirty in the videos.. enjoy.

@@markwarner136 much appreciated I can’t wait! And yes I have a bunch right now from you, but definitely was not enough when I got to the end caps this last weekend. Only had enough to cleco 3 1/2 panels in place so wanted to grab more. I have a another video coming out on your rivet alignment tool soon! Should be another good one like rivet removal tool video!

We LOVE your channel!!, we're renovating a 1973 International Sovereign Land Yacht Airstream... You should have WAY more views!! I don't think your marketing your channel... and for ALL the work you do for each video you should be, and making some income from KZfaq. Hopefully you can learn how to do this to optimize.. everytime we watch your videos and see your view #'s we shake our heads. Your channel is a "hidden gem"... it shouldn't be.. MANY in Airstream world would love to watch!!!! Thank you for your helpful content!!:)))

DD thank you for commenting and I am happy to hear my videos are helping. You are correct I think marketing is the key and where I’m being blocked a little. This channel currently has only KZfaq and Instagram. For some reason Facebook won’t let me sign up without a personnel account which I don’t have or want one. I would like to have the business page itself but they won’t let me. To make it worse, Instagram won’t let me promote the page for marketing unless I have a Facebook account…catch 22 I guess. I’m working on that end to get fixed hopefully soon. In the meantime I’ll keep making the videos and let the channel grow organically. Appreciate all the feedback and help. Last few days of comments has made me realize I will continue to make these videos for many more to see. Thanks D D

I found your channel recently and am glad I did. I'm working on a '78 Airstream very similar. The more I dig into it I find it is easier than I expected. But your work is amazing! Thank you for the inspiration.

Thank you Raymond for your words, they are very appreciated. Sometimes I ask myself is it worth continually spending more time making the video than the actual work and when I see comments like this I know it is. I truly hope my videos help you in making a good decision when repairing, restoring, renovating your Airstream. If you ever have questions on any of my videos past or future dont hesitate to ask or even comment I really do appreciate it. For my background I would agree the work is fairly simple and more of a Jack of all traits type work. Patience also helps especially not trying to rush and jump ahead on things during the renovation process. Best of luck on your 78 Airstream

I’m restoring a 71 sovereign. Really enjoying your videos! I’m not far behind you. Pulling the trigger on the subfloor really soon. Just finished gutting it. I’ve done KZfaq monetizing and it’s all a huge pain in the butt. Not to mention the time it takes to create the content. I hope the best for you. I’m just going get my Airstream done. No videos here, just photos for our own memories.

I’d suggest using Clecos to hold those sheets together. Drill a corner, put in cleco etc

GREAT VIDEO! This work you did was exactly what I wanted to see. I do have a couple of questions though. I saw on the front panel you used tape, it’s two sided tape I’m assuming but aren’t you supposed to use some kind of sealant also on each rivet to keep moisture and wetness out?
@dcdvs1583
@dcdvs1583 Жыл бұрын
It’s actually Butyl Repair Putty Tape Grey that I picked up from high sky rv parts dot com. It’s actually exactly what you need when over lapping metal panels for the perfect seal to keep moisture out etc. the Butyl Repair Putty Tape has adhesive tape on both side to keep from the roll molding into itself. You can peel one side off and put to metal panel and once lined up you take the second adhesive parts off before over lapping the second panel on top of the first one.

Morning sir, Which rivets did you use for the end panels size/depth? I had seen you used both 1/8 & 5/32 but wasn't 100% sure on exactly the right ones. This Channel has helped so much, thank you for taking the time to video everything.
@dcdvs1583

Thank you for your comment and a good morning to you as well. I actually used 5/32 rivets for those panels and the most average length was 1/4” however there was some spots where the lengths were 3/8 because of panels netting or brackets in between. If I found myself in between sizes I would go with the longer rivet and back it up internally with a washer which worked really well in a few of those spots. I have a ton more content getting ready to be released soon.
