It's a shame they seem to have covered the inside of the windows with white fiberglass... This takes away the ability to keep the ship looking correct and makes it super hard to get back a simple feature that it came with before they modified it... Please remove the white windows. Airwolf did NOT have white windows....

I have one and the Huey i just wish Flywing would do something about that loud whining sound from the tail motor. It really takes away from the cool sound ofthe main rotor blades.

Ok now that would be great i see one vid on you tube were he makes one complete circle with the heli before flying .I've seen some you tube vids on the huey were it flips over on the first flight as it just got off the ground .so I'm hopeing with the new ones I ordered that that don't happen to me .I no some tricks were you have to wait till you get enough satellites and head speed before take off so will see hopeing for some good luck.

Great build, seriously considering an fl450. It look a bit snappy and porpoised at times, wandering if the expo needs adjusting. Also flywing did release a software update which other rc channels have done and they seem to fly smoothly. However not sure the windspeed on day had something to do with it? Fab vids👍

Hey Don, I did the Flywing Airwolf conversión. And it came out perfect and balanced. My question is what do I need to turn up on the throttle exactly to compensate for the added weight. All I found was throttle curve and brought it up to 100%.

Any optional fw200 v2 shells? I purchased the 200 model unaware of the 450l being updated to v3 but the 200 has been awesome and a different shell would be amazing. Thanks for the video and very nice build

Hey Dom, the GPS is mounted on the plastic shell, where and how did you mount the GPS on the Airwolf shell? The FW assembly video is for the older V2.

You just pull it off the fuselage and stick it on top of the ESC with new double sided tape. Make sure orientation is same

I turned my Trex 700 into an 800 and REALLY want an Airwolf kit. Is there one out there for me? I have a 450 sized A109 that has a 5 bladed head and 2 bladed tail. I can't seem to dial in the proper head speed to make it fly well. Any help with that?

Dom, did you have any issues with missing hardware. Starting to hear left and right that the shell is coming with NO hardware to mount wheels, mechanics, etc...

Is it true that gps helis like this doesnt tilt on the side while banking? Also can the gps be turned off so that it can fly like regular collective pitch helis?

The latest version does not need calibration. Just attach the blades, charge the battery, 4 AAs in the radio and fly it.

I haven't. Did it with the Sport fuselage so didn't personally feel compelled to do it with the Airwolf as the full size never flew inverted. I've no doubt it will if that's what you want to do.

Nope. In this and the UH-60 it has worked perfectly out of the box.

@EssentialRC Thanks, apparently if you change the 3D setting to 1400 up from 1000 you have ATT mode very stable but no GPS but take off in GPS mode. better flying but stable. Do this on the transmitter. MANSOOR ALI has a video on KZfaq.

Do you need to adjust the pitch in the software or swashplate? Or only if they need changing? Im scared shitless breaking it hahah. Only gonna do gps only

Don't think so. Flies fine out of the box for me...even after changing to the Airwolf fuselage.

@@EssentialRC Awesome. I got mine from Motion RC. I’m scared as hell since it’s my first legit Heli and don’t wanna crash it lol. I’ll stick in gps. So calibration is pretty straight forward? Could you do a tutorial maybe on it? Would it be controller calibration or not even that, just the metro meter and gps really?

Still recommend putting double sided tape to hold the tail to the side so it’s level with the side of the body too? Sorry for all the question haha. Just want to nail everything as it’s being shipped to Australia for me would had to crash and have to order more stuff haha Do the fan belts needs much tightening same with the blades?

I didn't do any calibration. It worked out of the box. I only did the compass calibration after FlyWing asked me to upgrade before my 2nd review video. When you fly it first time make sure all the switches are up before you turn on the transmitter, then plug in the flight battery while the heli is on a hard flat level surface. Fold out the blades so they are straight. The light on the flight controller in the heli will be purple but put the switch down to GPS mode and it will turn green. Step back to a safe position and hold both sticks down and to the outer sides for at least 5 seconds. The light on the flight controller will flash green. Move the switch to Run and the tail and main blades will being rotating. Give the heli 10-15 seconds to get the head speed stable. You might want to keep you finger on the switch so can move it to Stop should anything go wrong. But otherwise very very gently push up the left stick. Initially the heli may just 2-3 feet in the air but then should hover and be ready to fly. I found during the first flight that the heli went into RTH because it hit low voltage on the battery. I switched that feature off in the software and time my flights now based on FlyWing's advice. Flip to inverted by the switch only works if it is first enabled in the software you can download from FlyWing.
