She is an abusive partner... disregarding others feelings, gaslighting, deliberately triggering to iscolate OP from friends, next will be her threatening him with them or placing knives around the house in random places etc.

There is a simple fix for one problem. One of her manipulation tactics was to turn other people against him by lying about who did or said whatever... She was in control enough not to give herself away. If he had put hidden cameras in the apartment, and wore a voice recorder he would have had proof. Even if it was only to reinforce his own sanity. What an evil, rotten witch she turned out to be. It might not be a bad idea to always have a recorder handy, just in case she pops up again.

Everyone in the comments needs to read the book "Why does he do that - Inside the minds of angry and controlling men" - by Lundy Bancroft. This tells you what abusive people are. This is a free pdf you can just google. Download it on your phone and read. After having read it, i can see almost 10/10 similarities mentioned about the picture of the abuser, and Nicole. The only way to help yourself is with understanding. I urge everyone the read the book, it's a free pdf available on google

I'm glad OP left, she was and probably still is psychotic. She’s also very narcissistic. 1. She lured him under a fall sense of security by saying she'll protect him, then slowly taunted him with the knife, got a confidence boost by him reacting and just kept at it. Until he broke. Then victimized herself during the break up to make him feel bad. Then when they got back together she did it all over again, gaslighting, taunting, deflection, threats and more. All that physiological and emotional abuse was to assert her dominance and make sure he wouldn't be able to escape her grasp like the first time. She’s textbook classified narcissist, it's almost a miracle he was able to get away.

She got interested in knives so she could test just how triggered he could get - in order to abuse and toy with him. Everything after was just normal narcissistic bullshit. The friends were just as bad. This poor guy needs to be with a gentle soul - and unfortunately those don’t seem to exist anymore.

Op, please give your therapist the journal, the more open you are with your therapist the better off you will be. I can't imagine the hell you've been through having had your mother and dog murdered. Don't think for one moment that your ex did not know the trauma and pure hell she was putting you through. Please stop all contact with her and never respond or reply to anything she sends you. Close and lock that door, forget about her. Never be afraid to show emotion or cry, it's a release and holding it in does not help. Given time and therapy, you will heal from this, you will find that special girl too by the way ❤️ when you do find that special someone update us all so we can see how you're doing.

Dear God! Anyone that supported that female and her deliberate and manipulative ways of hurting the OP are monsters. They have obviously never been abused and think they are strong enough to deal with mental harrassment on this level. So very glad the OP got the courage to ask his dad for help. Very glad the family chose to be his rock when he needed them.

Run, run far run long never look back get a restraining order never ever let her in your life again. Block her on everything. I truly hope that you get better and have a happy life. In the US, the ability to record another party without explicit consent depends on whether it’s a two party state. He could have been in legal trouble trying to record her, depending on state laws, or he didn’t feel it was safe to keep a recording tool where she could come across it versus a notebook that he kept at his work, presumably she wasn’t raiding his desk

If the bar she’s using for whether or not behavior is okay is whether cops would arrest her for doing it… You’ve stated your boundary. Many times. She claims to understand, then forgets and crosses again. When you leave to protect yourself, suddenly she’s questioning your masculinity. When you come back to talk things out (generally considered the mature response) she mocks you. She won’t let you finish, but of course you’ve told her all of this before, and she just talks over you. You’re talking about you not feeling safe, so of course she crowds you. Agoraphobia is about people being too close and making you feel unsafe. Then she keeps badgering you to call the cops… an obvious strawman argument. You never said she had done anything illegal. You admitted that this is a trauma response for you, not a rational fear. Whether it’s legal is irrelevant. So here’s what I see. You told her your boundary, and why. She understood it, and agreed to it, and followed it for a bit, then didn’t. Rinse and repeat. You left, a reasonable response. Now she verbally and physically intimidating you, inventing straw man arguments, insulting your masculinity. But what really matters is: she knows this REALLY bothers you, then continues doing it anyway, specifically because it bothers you. Anybody who isn’t an idiot would know that someone triggered by knives would not enjoy a “cutting off a finger” prank. (I’m not sure anyone enjoys any prank, but that’s just my opinion.) Talking won’t help this. She knows what she needs to know. She has known for quite some time. She just doesn’t care. There is nothing to salvage here… she just enjoys being able to bully the man with a problem with knives. And when she saw that her intimidation wasn’t working, she backpedaled and started to love bomb you… showing up with breakfast, hugs and kisses where your coworkers can see.

She said that moving in together was the only way you could prove to her that you’d forgiven her. Why do YOU need to prove anything to HER? She’s the one who crossed lines. Every time you don’t turn the other way and leave, when you notice her, that her proof. What is needed is for her to prove she’s not going to intentionally trigger you for her own amusement. You owe her no proof. What she wants is evidence that she can resume the emotional abuse without consequences.
@goatkiller666

Men need feminism too, because if a man treated a woman like this, he’d be in prison. But when a woman does it to a man, the man is unacceptably weak and the woman is “quirky”. This is textbook emotional abuse, no matter who does it to whom. It’s not okay, and having lingering psychological damage from this is a completely understandable outcome. And implying that he wasn’t abused because of his gender… that’s what feminism is trying to fight. The genders should be treated the same, abuse is abuse, and gender norms are as harmful to men as to women, just in different ways.

@@billcutting2681 hate breaking it to you, but that makes you not that much better than the chick in video. "i understand that's a psychological phenomenon" and immediately proving that you don't, by saying "i can't accept that from an adult, only from children" wanna know why i don't comment on stuff about thermodynamics or microbiology? because i don't comment on or make statements regarding stuff i don't know sht about. works wonderfully for psychology just as well, just sayin. "adults have to do better" indeed. mentally healthy adults do. unfortunately there wasn't any in this video, so it doesn't really apply here. that statement of yours is equally as wicked as some of the chick's statements in the video ("everybody else would already be over it by now" "you're too sensitive" (about the drama caused by your mom and dog being knifed to dth right in front of you when you were a kid.)) all prime examples of knowing absolutely nothing about anything even slightly psychology related. besides all that. if your opinions and or views align with the obvious, psychotic abuser when watching such a video, personally I'd worry about that quite a bit. but that's just me.

Yeah, this one is pretty obviously fake especially after the Update. I can believe the first part since some people will genuinely try to help those with traumas by making them more comfortable with the subject of said trauma and sometimes they end up pushing it too far but the second part is way too exaggerated. The GF literally does a 180 personality wise and suddenly becomes "Yandere Character Nr.25" out of the blue? Ok. If my man wanted this to be more realistic he should've painted the gf in a more psychotic manner since the beginning.
