This was my step mother and my step sisters. My father sided with them every time. Then... I ended up marrying a guy with a mother that always tried to cut me out of everything. Leaving me with the children (his brothers and sisters kids too). during travel and events. I sure don't miss any of them! When I got divorced and a couple years later when my twin sister died. Zero reason to be near any of them ever again.

I totally agree...Beth sounds exactly like my toxic, manipulative, narcissistic ex-husband. I know, I know...I'm labeling, but that's exactly what he used to do! Sneaky, manipulative, and above all the gaslighting. Making me think that my reasonable reaction was drama. And then I'd be left explaining how it's reasonable and not drama, because I wanted him to understand that I'm not being dramatic, I'm being reasonable. then when I would get frustrated about why he can't understand a plain and simple thing and start to get emotional, he would use that to prove his point that I was being dramatic and unreasonable! The kicker is that they know you're not causing drama, they know you are being reasonable, they are just telling you this so you'll continue to defend yourself and explain yourself and lose sight of standing up for being treated the correct way.

@@sph1226 Not sure if you have kids with them or not but in case you are still forced to deal with them, just remember to stay on task. A manipulator loves to change subjects to constantly keep you on your guard and on the defensive. So if they change subjects to something else, just switch it right back because that's not what you were discussing in this conversation. Keep them on the subject you were originally fighting over, refuse to acknowledge any questions not pertaining to what directly relates to your fight and you'll soon realize the reason they switched topics is because they were running out of shit to blame you for. At that point, you systematically destroy all their relevant plot points and when the dust settles you both realize they don't have a leg to stand on. That's how you win against a manipulator.

NTA, the stepdaughters kids are their f**king responsibility to find babysitters they like, not steal from your daughter to force her out of a family vacation. This isn't about the kids, the stepdaughters just don't like your daughter. Trying to force her to babysit is just extra. Take your daughter on father-daughter vacation and start to rethink your marriage because this will keep happening.

Some of the things that shouldn't be played around with, no matter how "close" you are with another person: - their partner/spouse - their bank/credit cards - their phones - their passports and IDs (social security, work ID, etc.) - their personal keys (house, car, etc.) - their personal mail (bills, college acceptance letters, invitations, etc.) Mess with any of those and you've done serious damage to your relationship. -

If it was supposed to be a family vacation. Why were YOU willing to leave your Grandchildren home with a baby sitter ? I do agree, the entire vacation should have been cancelled . Going forward, it should be determined whether or not your entitled step daughters are fit to be mothers. And if they’re both single mothers, they need to be out on their own, not living with you which is the impression I get. It also sounds like the evil step daughters are bullying your biological daughter. You should all seek counseling immediately.

Even if she does it as a job if they don't pay her a reasonable amount why should she keep babysitting for them.
