Even though I don't buy that he doesn't remember asking out someone to prom as a joke. I think if he truly feels bad about his behaviour he would issue Melissa an apology directly. MIL might think it's pathetic to still feel a way about something that happened as a teen but it's normal to look back at a truly humiliating moment and still feel somewhat upset. Ppl don't understand not everyone just bouncing back from bullying.

"We all"? Don't lump me in with yall ah not everyone is a pric- and in highschool your old enough to understanding right from wrong they have every right to not invite whoever they want

Hate to break it to you man but not everyone is a douchebag in high school And on top of that, high schoolers are old enough to understand right from wrong and have empathy for one another. It's also not holding a grudge to still have some feelings from a traumatic and humiliating experience like that. That kind of "prank" crushes people's self esteem. It's cruel.

Baby boy there isn't a best by date on trauma that shits there for life it's naive of you to think just because it was 20 years ago they should be over shame on you you sound like you were a horrendous dick in highschool and you think what you did wasn't that bad but Becky is ripping her hair out now and Timmy tired to blow his brains out it was a joke to you but it was hell for everyone else it doesn't matter if you were a kid or a grown man your actions leave lasting scars on others and they have to live with the consequences while you go scout free.
