The sad news is this is our last travel vlog from Aitutaki, but the good news is there's 3 more vlogs to come in this Cook Islands series - all from exploring on Rarotonga. So for this final Aitutaki video we wanted to travel around and explore the REAL side of Aitutaki, the side you often don't see, and understandably so because most people will go straight to the stunning lagoon!

But I'm planning a trip to either Vietnam or Thailand for 1 month, and I really am confused about which one will be more fun for me. - I'm not into clubs, parties, bars, nightlife, restaurants, chilling 24/7 on the beach, etc. - I'm into tropical landscapes, nature, attractions, sea, ziplines, water sports, animals, diving (open to fill types of attractions, and maybe even a little extreme, such as diving with sharks and such), etc. Which one you think will be better for me?

OMG , Aitutaki is spectacularly beautiful. I've been to Rarotonga which is gorgeous also , but never to Aitutaki. Tropical paradise like Queensland without the crocodiles !

Really great video! Having stayed at Etu Moana, when it opened in 2006, it was wonderful to see how well it’s been kept up. I recognized a number of places visited and am heartened that the island doesn’t, yet, seem overwhelmed by tourism.

Beautiful video. I have been to Aitutaki in 2007 and 2010, stayed a month between the two stays and even recognized some of the people you met there in your video and definitely the places. Aitutaki ranks at the top so far in the most beautiful places ever seen and I also love the mesmerizing atmosphere. you def know what I mean. Have you been to Maina island and the sandbar called Hobeymoon Island in the lagoon? That's really my favorite place on earth so far

Haven't checked them out... yet! We loved it there too but just wish the weather was better, so much rain for our trip so it was hard to see the full experience - but the people, the food, the vibe, were all so amazing

Loved Sonja's place with the home made and home grown food. Curious to know what the car rental situation was like there. Over here in Europe, many rental places sold off a lot of rental cars in the pandemic as no one was renting, and now they're struggling to get replacements so the costs to rent are sky high. We learnt this the very hard way after booking lots of non refundable accommodations and flights so have had to bite the bullet. For our next, next trip, we aim to do it 100% on public transport to help offset the unexpected spending!

Such a cute little hidden gem! Loads of local fruits and veggies we'd never even heard of before. We have to be honest and say the tourism board took care of our rental car so we're not entirely sure of the situation on Aitutaki. Sounds crazy over in Europe! The world has changed so much in just a few short years hasnt it. That's awesome!! No doubt it will be a great adventure, plus great for the budget and the environment - wins all round!

A bit of both, always need cash in the Cook Islands, but some places to also accept card

Some useful advice but I do feel kind of sad about going to what is a tiny paradise island and hiring a car. Symptomatic really of everything to do with how we are all wrecking this world. Paradises like this will soon be gone.
