I actually hope Aizen will never have a sad backstory. He took action entirely on his own accord. Even if Masaki didn’t die, Ichigo would still feel the need to protect as good as he can. Both would definitely find peace with being soul reapers

There are five noble families in Bleach: Shihoin, Tsuanyashiro, Kuchiki, Shiba and one family was banned to hell because of their betrayal against the soul king and their name wasn't revealed yet. I guess Aizen is a member of this banned family and he did exactly what this family tried in the past, take soul's king place and control everything. Certainly, Aizen is a noble and his zanpakutou is a zanpakutou of his family.

Honestly, even though I'm a sucker for a good backstory where they're sad, tragic or just epic, but the mysterious origins of eisen have honestly always been something that I felt really made the character like you don't know why he is like he is or where he's from or anything about him. You just know he's overpowered as hell and rotten to the core

Kyoraku was actually never suspicious that Aizen was evil. He never even assumed that Aizen had faked his death the only 2 who were wary of him were Shinji and later Unohana.

Take that idea and flip it: Aizen, is Shunsui's father. Aizen is immortal and arguably more powerful than Kyoraku. In the manga, Head Captain Kyoraku went to Aizen's cell--and something strange happened to him. Kyoraku sensed something had altered, but he couldn't put his finger on it. That concept would be another spectacular twist!

People like to say "Aizen didn't have a sad backstory and it's better this way" but Kubo had eluded to such a thing when Ichigo spoke about the loneliness he felt coming from him. Now was it a tragic backstory? No probably not. But sad in a way that doesn't get explored much in media. Not understood by the world around him. Unable to make any genuine friends without having to lie to them or say what they prefer hearing. He couldn't even find anyone who could challenge him until he was a part of the captain squad, so he couldn't take solace in battle. In many ways, I see Aizen being a parallel to Kenpachi weirdly. Too strong for the world and battle was the only thing Kenpachi cared about. That sadness and loneliness coming from the same place: nobody understood either of them. And in place, they both went mad. Before anyone says Aizen wasn't mad, consider this: Even after being defeated, instead of showing fear, he showed a complete lack of self preservation and screamed into the void "That's a loser's argument. A victor must speak of the world not how it is, but rather how it should be. I will...". Then taunts central 46 as they're sentencing him. Then taunts Yhwach and says "Welcome to my Soul Society" having full belief that he's gonna become some form of Soul King one day. Or as if though he already is and people haven't realised it yet. Though Kenpachi's personality is brute ish, both him and Aizen have a knack for violence and brutally maiming their opponents. And both of their reasons come from very similar places. Kenpachi wanted to find strong opponents to stop feeling lonely and because he loves it. Aizen wanted to become God to stop feeling lonely and because he loved it. Yeah Aizen's approach seems counterintuitive but that's because his psyche is much more complex than Kenpachi's and that was his way of coping with it. Plus becoming God, he distances himself from everybody so much, that he would no longer need to feel that connection, at least I think that was his idea

I was always under the impression Aizen was related to the soul king for some reasons I don’t know how old Shunsui is but he would probably look much older than that if he was Aizen father, since back when he was a teen Yamamoto had black hair (and Unohana was there already but she a healer so her looking young kinda make sense , on some Tsunade type shit 😅)
