Kristoffer Ajer scored a late goal as 10-man Brentford were beaten 2-1 by Burnley at Turf Moor.
Sergio Reguilón gave away a penalty and was sent off nine minutes into the game, after he was deemed to have pushed Vitinho in the back inside the penalty area to deny a clear goal-scoring opportunity.
Jacob Bruun Larsen converted the spot-kick, before David Datro Fofana doubled the home side's lead midway through the second half, as the Clarets punished their visitors with a clinical counter attack.
Ajer pulled one back for the west Londoners with a diving header, but Thomas Frank's side couldn't conjure a second goal late on.

@@lumbago.is.seriousCalm down Burnley fan. I know not losing is rare for you, so I understand you saying it was a “totally fair game”. If the game were truly fair, Regulion wouldn’t have been sent off, if your pen counted why wasn’t there one called for a foul on Zanka, and Toney’s goal may or may not have counted. So those “flops” that Brentford was doing would’ve never happened.

We should play a 3-4-3 formation so we have 3 defenders, 4 midfielders and 3 attackers so then we can include Brian Mbeumo in the attack with Toney and Maupay/Wissa.

He sabotaged a player who had a clear opportunity of scoring. As per the definition, it's the right call. There will always be some such odd calls when you have to stick to a verbal definition.

Really? Are you watching football? That was last man foul. Burnley player has a clear and open chance and got pushed with that silly foul. So yes, that 100% red card in epl whoever the reff.

@@jonjoberly2731Just because you stop a possible scoring chance doesn’t mean it’s an automatic red. He made an attempt to play the ball and he wasn’t attempting to foul the player, which he probably didn’t see because he was looking at the ball. I will say it was a pen tho.

Vitinho had a clear sight on goal when he was sabotaged. It doesn't matter how serious the offence was, you can't unjustly stop a player with a sight of goal and then complain when sent off. With Doku on the other hand, there wasn't an opportunity of scoring. It was just a foul. And it wasn't worth of a pen cause Doku had his foot up trying to control it without endangering anyone. It's afterwards that Macc jumped in. It's a 50/50 regardless but you just can't relate the 2. Not if you have been watching football for over 3 years.

No matter why Oliver didn't give Liverpool a penalty, Reguilon did deserve a red card because he was the last defender, if the last defender fouls on a attacker who obviously has a score chance it is always a red card.

This game lacked quality. It’s a shameful game. A half decent player would bury those chances. Nice goalkeeping though.

I normally look for the positives but we were awful, Burnley got the ball down and played football, we just launched hopeless balls into the air and didn't win the second ball, we got what we deserved we need to be much better than that

Red card ruined Brentfords game. Not a red at all. Also the goal disallowed was foolish. We did play mediocre football but it dosent help that the ref was Burnley’s 12th player.

Lemme start. Red card was too excessive, it was a pen tho I will admit, Zanka should’ve had a pen if Burnley first was, Toney didn’t foul the keeper when the goal was disallowed, I’ve seen that exact goal count this season many times before, and some fouls called on Brentford were garbage.
