I figured this out. It was simply my gasket needed replacing. Works perfectly now!

Unpressurized volume will be more than Pressurized volume. Example, if u grind coarser, you will get 3oz, compared to another shot which is Finer brings 1 oz espresso. Flow meter brings that same 4 oz water. When u do high pressure shot, u may get 1 oz espresso, and the remaining hot water of around 3 oz goes through OPV to drip tray directly. To get more espresso, grind coarser OR do manual extraction till u get desired espresso. To get 2 oz do the same Manual mode OR you need to dial in grind size, tamp pressure, dose etc to get 2oz espresso.

Always use Non-Pressurized filter basket. That Pressurized filter basket is for Pre-Ground coffee beans or when someone is lazy to dial in. You are not getting enough pressure because you may not be using Freshly Roasted beans from a local roaster which is less than 10 days old roasted date. When you run just water, how many Oz do you get in single and double?

Its normal in some cases. Few things to consider. 1. I noted that if my beans get over extracted (almost burnt), then it sticks. To fix dial in properly. 2. Make sure u follow the Razor height after tamping the beans. Less Grinds in PF can cause soggy puck. Simple solution is to press Extraction button with PF on GroupHead, for 5 seconds and stop. This should push the puck down into the PF Let me know if any of this works.

I guess you tested it without any coffee Grinds. Its normal to show pressure around 10 o clock and water volume would be less when using Pressurized basket, as the remaining goes into the drip tray through backflush. Most of the issue is related to the freshness of the beans. Always keep this in mind - Freshly Roasted beand is a MUST for Espresso. How do ai get that? 1. Roast your own beans and consume in 3-4 weeks 2. Find a local roaster who provides the Roasted date. Now its hard to get pressure using a stale beans or store bought beans. @@AjusCafe I did de-scale it again. The single shot worked fine. The double shot didn't work on the first try but eventually broke thru on the second try. It's almost like there's a clog in the double walled filter. Thank you again for the suggestion!

@@dinotat3199 great. If you have cafiza power, soak it for 2 hours and rise. Else vinegar and water mix , soak overnight.

Yes that sounds like an issue with the machine. Hot water should stop at 8 ounce mark.

@@AjusCafe Hi. I thought I'd let you know the outcome of the machine as I have it working again. I had somehow missed a descale on the cleaning. Once I done this, it started working again and has been fine since. I won't let that happen again 😂

If pressure is too high then do these steps: 1. Lower your dose amount. That means if you are taking 18g, then take 17g 2. Change the Grind side to COARSER. That means if its on 4, change it to 6 or 8 and see. 3. Reduce tamping force. If you can play with the above 3 parameters, you should get the correct pressure. Let me know if this helped.

It seems some error in the flow meter that dispense the water Volume. If you are sure you did reset the machine and plug off the machine from the wall for a minute and see. If it still didn't work you need to open the machine and check the flow meter (if u r a handyman). Else call breville customer service.

I could possibly do a video tomorrow on this, if your machine is still not on warranty you can follow the steps.

@@AjusCafe Wow, appreciate the quick response and suggestions. Did the un-plug as well. Called Breville and went through trouble shooting, they were helpful and even did a video call to watch what I was doing. They believe it needs a repair which would cost me a bit over $200 to fix or replace with a remanufactured item. Interestingly they also offered me 30% off any upgraded model under $1000! We may take them up on that and order the Express or Pro (for $523 or $603 respectively). With that all shared, I'd still like to see how I would check the flow meter. if there is no water coming out of the GroupHead, then I suspect the water pump failing.

If you get very high pressure then the machine is choking and you may not see the espresso flow. To fix, grind the beans more COARSE and try again. You should be able to see the flow between 11 - 12 o clock pressure range.

If the pressure gauge is fluctuating a lot, then there could be some issue. Did you contact breville support?

When you press double cup without Portafilter, are you getting hot water through the GroupHead? When is the roast date of the coffee?
