I used to skip all the non-wrestling stuff when I watched these shows as a kid, but now that I'm older I'm really thankful that they're included. Great time capsule from a pivotal time in the business.

Akira Hokuto and Shinobu Kandori was just all kinds of awesome as a feud. It's my favourite feud for that golden period of Joshi wrestling in the early to mid 90's. It felt like a blood feud from day one, and both women went all in for it. Their matches are classics and even the press conference bit was intense. I don't think Kandori looked as great as she did with Hokuto. It's funny to look at Akira Hokuto today as she's this sweet mom like figure, who does cooking videos. But in her wrestling career she was the closet thing in Joshi wrestling to a Stone Cold Steve Austin type badass, who took no shit from anyone. Plus she kicked cancer's ass and she wrestled with broken freaking neck. I know Manami Toyota always get's greatest Joshi ever, but Hokuto for me is up there with her.

I love these pre shows or behind the scenes where the crew set up the ring, stage, lighting, and pyro to show you how the magic happens. Also seeing the ring crew build the rings shows me that these women had a painful ring to bump on.
