I always love how the .22 sounds like a high powered bb gun.

When I searched “extreme ball busting” I wasn’t expecting this. But it still served the purpose I needed.

The difficulty in separating the lead .22 bullet from the copper is due to the lead being able to readily alloy itself to many nonferrous metals. Copper being one of them. If you do remove the lead, you will find that some of it is now intimately mingled with the Copper, (copper has all the fun) A fun video, keep making them.

I’m in absolute shock how strong that copper ball is, I thought medium rounds to do it in badly, let alone a 50 cal! Incredible strength.

I asked Chatgpt why it was louder the first shot and this what it said. The first shot being louder when firing an AK with a suppressor (silencer) is due to a phenomenon known as "first-round pop." This occurs because suppressors work by trapping and slowing down the expanding gases produced by the fired round, which helps reduce the noise generated by the gun. When a gun is fired, there is unburnt gunpowder or other debris left in the suppressor after the bullet leaves the barrel. This debris can temporarily obstruct the suppressor's internal space, causing a slight increase in pressure for the first shot. As a result, the first shot tends to be slightly louder than subsequent shots because once the suppressor is clear of debris, it functions more efficiently in reducing the noise of subsequent shots. It's worth noting that this effect is more noticeable with certain types of ammunition or specific suppressor designs. Over the course of continuous firing, the suppressor tends to function more consistently, and the noise reduction is more noticeable after the initial shot.

Fun fact: 90% of privately owned guns in Australia are bolt action rifles and lever action rifles/shotguns. There are 4 million privately owned guns in Australia, our population is 25 million people. It’s estimated 1 in 20 people own at least one firearm. It’s quite expensive to own a gun here, firearm and ammo prices are marked up compared to US prices and there’s also license fees and club fees for handgun license holders.

I wonder if the heat from impact is enough to “weld” the lead to the copper. Lead is used in silver solder, ostensibly to increase the stick factor when sweating copper pipes.

15:05 there is actually a test for explosives where you place them in a lead block and have it deform the lead, this copper thing kind of reminded me of that. (also: soft metals are nice because they tend to stay in one piece and not create too much shrapnel, which is why lead was used as a material when making nitro-glycerin: in case something goes wrong you dont have meatl-shrapnel going everywhere)
