Hello Everyone! Welcome to Magg's Kitchen aka the BEST Haitian food on KZfaq! I created this channel to share my love for cooking with the entire world. These recipes are easy to follow and will leave your friends & family begging for more!
Ingredients:
6 cups of water on stove top
3 Cinnamon stars (star anise)
3 Cinnamon sticks (canela)
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
1 1/2 cup of aka100 flour mixed with 4 cups of water
2 cans of Carnation milk
1 lime
Sugar to taste
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prepare the Base: Set the stove to medium-high heat and add 6 cups of water to a pot. Add the cinnamon star (star anise), cinnamon stick, salt, ground nutmeg, and ground cinnamon to the water.
Mix the Flour: In a separate mixing bowl, combine aka100 flour with water and mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
Combine Ingredients: Once the water on the stove is boiling, reduce the heat to low. Gradually add the aka100 flour mixture to the boiling water, stirring constantly. Once combined, increase the heat back to medium-high.
Add Flavorings: Add Carnation milk, lime juice, additional nutmeg, ground cinnamon, and sugar to taste. Finally, add vanilla extract.
Achieve Perfect Consistency: Continue to stir until the Akasan reaches the desired consistency. Refer to the video for guidance on consistency. Use a strainer to remove any lumps, star anise, and cinnamon stick.
Serve and Enjoy: Pour the Akasan into a storage container and enjoy warm or chilled.
