Final palace Akechi genuinely seems nicer to me just because you can trust that he means what he says. You don't have to suspect he's insulting you. He will be very clear about insulting you

Before 3rd semester the text in Akechi's end screen says "My sole interest is uncovering the truth," then it turns into "I decide the truth" when he drops the act - a chilling change in detail, I absolutely love it

Imagine if at Sae's palace, you bring Akechi to the confessional and he just reveals himself

3rd semester Akechi is clearly better since he gets rid of the bullshit and be his true self. Also, he can be unintentionally funny with that sass of his.

I kind of like how even in Sae's palace some of his ruthlessness kind of leaks out for Sketchy Akechi in the heat of combat and it's difficult for him to keep up the act.

in term of portraits, Fake Akechi has rounder eyes while real Akechi has sharper eyes.

A little piece of symbolism I always liked about Akechi is his all out attack animation in his prince outfit. The little dance he did before it ended was a nice way to add on to the fact that everything about his detective prince personality was an act, a performance, something meant to draw attention to him while his real motives lay hidden.

I always loved Akechi even before they made him more likeable. I always had a thing for tragic villain and anti heroes

Final Semester Akechi seems much more genuine than Sae's Case. Even though Akechi use harsh and foul words, it is a relief that he doesn't try to hide his true self.

Honestly, no bullshit Akechi is best Akechi. I'm always smiling whenever he's on screen. And I wish you could play with him in Tycoon. Like, I know you can play with Akechi in Tycoon, but he seems to be his... 'princely' self in that. Kinda. I was excited to see maniac Akechi play honestly.

Akechi's true self is so much more fun to watch, I love him also it kinda feel like some of his true personality leaks through while he's in his prince form, like how he tells enemies to "Taste my wrath!" not really something an honorable, just detective prince would say

What I do love is True Akechi is no longer hindered by his forced fake personality and decides to cut loose and be himself and march to the beat of his own drum, albeit he sounds crazy and really enjoying himself. That's the type of guy you want on your team in an intense battle. Into it, gives 0 fs, and dances to his own tune. Pretty sure the other thieves are thinking "He might be crazy, but we love him for it"

As someone who's loved Black Mask since vanilla (even though the time spent with him is just a boss battle) I'm so happy he and his violent and killer personality got some spotlight!

I have to say, while I do vastly prefer Akechis true colder personality over his prince b.s, I personally still like his original crow outfit over the black mask. It just seems to fit him in contrast to Joker as his opposite and rival.

if you think about it, it makes sense for third semester Akechi to have a new portrait - since he's neither an ally (Portrait used in Sae's Palace), nor villain (Shido's Palace and execution), he's only joining so he can learn the truth of the fake world

I wanted to punch Akechi in the face throughout all of the base game. I caught on immedietly to the pancakes bit and seeing him with his fake smile playing hero while knowing he was a cold blooded murderer just pissed me off. Cut to Royal though, and he quickly became my favourite male character. His honest self is basically the group's Vegeta and his new chemistry with everyone is just gold. I also deeply respect his decision to die free instead of living without free will, and I'm glad he still gets a chance in the true ending. We will never be friends, but I would lying if I said I wouldnt have missed the bastard.

I love Final Palace Akechi for being more honest and just doesn't care about any bullshit, but man he's so different. Now I like him even more

I just love how joker and crow have that Thor and loki dynamic (yes the marvel version). Whats even cooler is that you can have it fully realized when you have Thor as a persona and Crow has Loki. Just hoping that if they continue the story of the phantom thieves after Strikers that we can see Crow making a return and actually being accepted fully in the phantom thieves.

It’s honesty my partial belief that some of Akechi’s behavior in third semester during the meta verse portions with his wild nature is still due to himself using Loki send him in his berserk state. I still think he is a devious fighter but I think his higher intensity is due to Loki’s influence.

I love how Crow's eyes in all out attacks are more brown, while Black Mask Akechi's eyes are way redder.

I don't know if this has been commented upon yet, but I just noticed that in his "Prince" outfit, Akechi summons his Persona with his right hand, whereas in his "Black Mask" outfit, he does so with his left. Quite a neat little detail and a throwback to Akechi playing billiards right-handed, something which Joker comments upon. Akechi tells Joker in his social link that if he beats him whilst he's using his right hand, he'll give it "everything he has." I feel that, going off of Akechi's mindset of using his right hand to "hold back," he's using it in Sae's palace to show how he's still holding back his "true self," yet in the Third Semester, him using his left hand shows how he's no longer holding back.

Kind of like Prince Crow more because his battle stances are a lot more stylish. Dragoon Crow kind of looks like he has a broken back and weak knees.

I like that when in combat in Sae's Palace, Akechi's vicious nature still shines through just a bit. Whereas in the third semester he just gives in to his bloodlust.

Interesting to note, when Prince Akechi summons, he puts his right hand on his mask, as opposed to Black Mask Akechi, who touches his mask with his left hand, the dominant hand.

I love how he went from "Yes sir; i will make sure to bring her home by 10:00 pm sharp" to "She calls me daddy now."

Perhaps because I like charismatic people, I find the two Akechi personalities nice. When I first saw him at the TV studio I picked up my disc case and went "ohmygod it's that cute guy finally he appeared please join our team." I play on JP, so soon as I heard the voice, despite me being enamoured with Ryuji at the time for his voice actor, I just dropped everything and fell hard. I got spoiled that he killed Isshiki, so I was wondering how much more he killed and if he'll betray us. His Loki awakening at Shido's palace I found a little too edgy both in ENG and JP, but it was fun anyway and I was really depressed when I couldn't see him for all those months. He appears again and his new portraits looked so much cooler and his blank expression with those eyes just made me think, "he got even better??? how!??!" and he had his whole "I'm sick and tired of Maruki's shit let's get this over with" dialogue and that immaculate voice good god. He did get even better then, but I still rank Detective Prince Akechi really high on my favourite list, the Third Semester only beating him by like one percent. His ikemen levels went higher because of the new portrait being drawn with more angled and straight eyes and eyebrows, which gives off a different personality and the blank stare was just too good man when it looks more tired like that

I love the contrast between fake Akechi and Akedgy, he sounds more knowledgeable and experienced in the final palace as opposed to his facade in Sae's palace.

I am so happy Akechi lived. He was my favourite character and really felt like the final boss. I'm also glad they didn't make him "repent" and rather kept him as the crazed but calculated killer he was.

The difference between the false and real Akechi is... impressive
