Ao Ashi is pretty much the exact opposite of bluelock in plot. It was wild to go from Ao Ashi, a show that does put emphasis on teamwork and letting go of ego to bluelock immediately the following season. Ao Ashi is still a good anime. Just very different

Having read and watched both AoAshi and Blue Lock, I can safely say that they're both great football stories, and neither is better than the other. It's just personal preference. Blue Lock is hype all day, with heavy focus on themes (self-improvement, ego, etc). AoAshi focuses more on character development and showing how football is really played (e.g. five-lane football, the high press, no crazy stuff like Nagi's trapping).

@@karna6634 I'm not arguing about if one series is better than the other. And that seems like a you problem since people watch fiction in different ways. The whole "people don't watch anime for the realism" is biased and wrong, but it doesn't mean I don't get where you're coming from since more shonen-leaning viewers tend to prefer fiction to the max. People can prefer realism and footballers do too. That's why most of them lean towards either Giant Killing or Ao Ashi when talking about their favorite current-running series

The main characters have similar "abilities", that's about all that's similar. They're both good in their own right, though I personally prefer blue lock because of the hype moments Edit: Not to say Ao Ashi doesn't have hype moments, I just like the ones in blue lock more

Ngl im very mixed on this. Sometimes im like, blue lock clears Ao Ashi so free. But I also think about how Blue lock has never made me feel emotional/want to cry. Ao Ashi not only gives me a similar hype rush that Blue lock gives, but it also has made me cry several times. So when I think of it in that way, Ao Ashi has more depth than blue lock.

I found another interesting way to enjoy the episode more According to the trivia, Tokimitsu's favorite player is Aguero, Aryu's favorite player is Andy Carroll, and Chigiri's favorite player is Eden Hazard. It helps to view their potential from different side.

Both ao ashi and blue lock are good but as someone whos caught up to both fully including the manga the hype you get from blue lock each episode is a WAYYYY better experience. ao ashi is a standard sports anime with regular build up, character development, training, and slice of life while blue lock is a pure shounen anime and an all around better experience if your plan is to watch something entertaining and get hype with interesting characters. The only thing ao ashi truly objectively does better is provide a more realistic take on soccer which isnt really as interesting as blue lock in my opinion. Obviously feel free to watch whatever you want but don't really go in expecting it to be similar to blue lock yfm

Ao Ashi is great in terms of the storytelling, there's some really amazing writing that's very emotionally charged, but it's different than Bluelock. Bluelock is just pure hype train and raw "I am the best".

Is been a tradition for a couple of weeks with a friend, after watching the episode watching you and god we love your entusiasm, we are ahead on the manga so we love seeing your reactions and thinking how you are gonna react. Btw, as someone who speaks spanish y love that you say golazo in spanish. And totally agree with the cgi, they only use it for long views and for a couple of frames, is much faster that way. The amazing plays happend in 2d, and the 3ds is barely bad

I watch lots of animes, only read like a handful of mangas (4-5). One of the manga is Ao Ashi. I like Blue Lock. Ao Ashi is soooo good tho. I would recommend to wait until Ao Ashi's anime get to their season 2 tho, its a slow burn but worth it.

blue lock is 'unrealistic' but in a great way, it's a showcase of some of the hypest possible shit that can come out of football. Aoashi I honestly love a lot - it's a much more realistic representation of what it's like to go pro I think. I think it's absolutely worth the watch though, even without being as hype as blue lock it still has great moments and really good football in it, just dont expect an insanely hype moment every ep like blue lock does, thats not really what the story's about ukno

So ao ashi has more realistic and emotional elements plus the games are slow paced so times and they even use real tactic from football/soccer whilst blue lock is more "anime"and every character has some sort of special skill and the even name their moves which are not even in the real life version of the sport so if you like real soccer you'll enjoy ao ashi but blue lock is non stop action so I see why people like it 😂

ao ashi has more depth in story compared to blue lock imo it really goes into detail about various football techniques; it has a slower pace so it’s not as hype as blue lock but i think it’s just as good the build up is what makes the end result so satisfying, you can’t really compare the two series tbh

I like Ao Ashi to represent more realistic technical aspects especially to people who don't fully follow football like me, but this is the reason majority of people prefers Blue Lock simply because of it primordial level of simply wanting to WIN. Rin is representative of the borderline toxic Jordan, Lebron, Messi, Ronaldo, Mayweather, type cat that WILL press their team mates to their limits so they can win

ao ashi deals with the struggles of a footballer aspiring to be a pro. good storytelling and tactics, you'll relate to the mc and the side characters backstory are gonna hit close to home. for people who wants to start football career watch this. blue lock is more unconventional football. new perspectives are introduced, especially in the concept of teamwork. blue lock is definitely lacking in depth of characters, but that's why the author keep making spin off novels. of course they haven't have a manga yet.

Ao Ashi is an amazing series and I actually love it more than Blue Lock. You guys will definitely like it too. Only problem with the anime is that the animation is ass most of the time, so it won't be as exciting to watch as Blue Lock and that's probably gonna affect your views on it.
