Akira Jimbo is a robot that Honda made back in '05. I was at one of his drum clinics and they had to change his batteries twice. Im not making this up. Its 100% true.

This happened to me once. I was playing B-flat blues in jazz band at the end of the year and all the other drummers started taking down the set while I was still playing. I didn't sound nearly as good though. lol

Amazing concept and execution! I believe Akira took lessons from Kozo Suganuma along with Senri Kawaguchi and Kanade Sato. All are incredible drummers!

from his own interview, the person who actually made him learn drum was steve gadd. he once thought drum was background instrument and not interesting. but after saw steve gadd, he changed his mind and he felt drummer can also be front player. akira started learn drum at his 17, he was late but it seems it just he's genius and rapidly become one of greatest drummers
