Which is more suitable for work, the Alabai or the kangal?
Where the Alabais and Kangals originate from? What were these LGD dogs used for and in which part of the world?
Is the Turkmen Alabai the same with the Central Asian Shepherd Dog? Is the Kangal Turkish, or Kurdish?
In this part we will give you a description of the two ancient breeds, the Alabai and the Kangal.

Turks 🇹🇷 and Turkmens 🇹🇲 posses inherited attributes where they are originally from the same clan of Central Asia Steps of Turkic People (similar ethnicity, language and culture). When Turks migrated towards West they inevitability took their shepherd dogs with them and over the course of centuries the dog evolved. To sum up, Alabai and Kangal inherited identical genotype like their owners. Also take a look at Akbas and Malakli (another Turkish Shepherd Dog breed).

It could be said that they are just 2 types of the same purpose dog - Alabai is a Mountian Shepheard type of LGD and Kangal is a desert / steppe type (Kangal has a sight hound's blood in the breed, and that's why it is slimmer than Alabai, and general molossus dogs). You can just look at other Asiatic LGD "breeds" - or more like types of dogs, like: the almost identical to ancient Sumerian molossus dogs Pshdar dog, also Sarabi dog, Koyun dog, Georgian Shepherd (looks MUCH like Alabai), Kuchi dog, Armenian Gampr and others.

There are some more Kindstod of These breeds. I have a volkodav alabai. My friend got an central asian ovtscharka and an other friend got caucasien ovtscharkas.. And These dogs are so different. My friend with the cao have one of These "show dogs" and this dog is so friendly like no other dog also to strangers... The caucasien ovtscharka of my other friend is more agressiv like the cao but a family dog and ho also dont bite to strangers.. but he barks an protect... My volkodav is the Fitness and Talest but not the havyest of them. He got now ca 70 kilos and is still Growing but He is not fat. The cao of my friend has a weight of more than 100 kilo.. But my dog is mutch fitter Athletik and mutch more agressiv. I got many dogs but no breed is agressiv like the volkodav.. And even If the volkodav is an alabai , they are no good working dogs... Becouse they only want to fight and kill

@@paulinarapicka yes thats true 😄 I have a lot of dog breeds in my life... pitbulls, american bulldogs , bullterrier and also a 104 kilo english mastiff ... I always get them when they was growen and making problems... My american bulldog was killing a gsd and later an Rottweiler before i get him... My mastiff was attacking a women and a child(the women lost a breast and parts of there guts) before i get him ..... and the other dogs was also Problem dogs.. You know big huge Monster dogs and "experts"... I know what realy is dangerous ... so i was thinking many years... And than last year i gere there where guys with a big dog that make problems... And so i get my volkodav 😊 And now i begin to realize what is realy dangerous. No other of my dogs was such a dog like this breed. This Power, the agility, the size and how lovefull and funny they could be.. But only for there owner🤩😍 All other people, animals or other beeing things will get killed if they try to come to close

Okay so you've settled if there is any difference between The Alibi and the Central Asian Shepherd Dog, will you settle the difference between the Kangal and the Anatolian Shepherd (doesn't actually herd anything)? I'm going now to check your Channel Library to see if you have done that already....

If you know the kangal can bite up to 800 PSI and they are descendants of the equally if not more powerful Alabai then why would you just assume that The alabais biting around 500 PSI if I had to assume the bite force I would think it would be closer to the seven or 800 PSI

@Parris Lucas, it was a European (Hungarian) kennel. Unfortunately, its owner has passed away a year ago and his dogs got to other kennels :(

@@parrislucas_ I have alabai puppies 3 left solid white, ears are not cropped 10 weeks old. Never sent off for paperwork therefore I'm selling them cheap $400. One male two females left. Father dog 175 pounds, mother about 125lbs. Great family dogs they can flip a switch in the blink of an eye and go from gentle Giants hanging out with the kids to fierce guardians. They are definitely not apartment dwellers they need plenty of space. I live in Arkansas way out in the country on 165 acres surrounded by thousands of acres of national Forest. We have coyote, bear, puma and wild boar. Does not matter what they encounter they are fearless. It was more or less an accidental breeding it will be a while before I breed them again but they will be papered next time and will probably be around $1500 per puppy.

I own 2 kangals, they are the best dogs I have ever owned. Kangals need a job and a lot of room to do their job

Lol that's not alabai. That is a popular fighting dog. Breed is caucasian volkodav. He is grandson of red Djebe

I have both breeds My female Malakli will be larger than my Central Asian My CAS is louder & displays more aggression at strangers My Malakli is reserved but powerful, don’t underestimate the subdued nature, this breed will quickly turn aggressive is a moments notice The Malakli is people friendly, will allows others inside home with my trust The CAS is people aggressive, zero tolerance for trespassing, the cas will not relax when someone that’s not been properly indoctrinated inside home Both wonderful breeds, but we’ll adjusted in my home but it’s not by accident They are walked & trained daily NOT! for 1st time dog owners These are serious dogs with specific qualities
