@@viborrr Hill didnt drive the car nowhere near as fast as senna did. Senna made a mistake in the first race, chasing Schumacher, after Schuhmacher cheated during the pit stop, you know, the whole thing about the removal of the particular filter, getting a faster pit stop. In the second race mika hakkinen drove into senna at the race start. In the third race Senna was leading, but everbody knows what happened then. They did a total shitjob though. Didnt have original replacement parts, instead used a different, smaller metal rod. Idk if the following is correect, but as far as i remember, i read that the cockpit, the position of the steering wheel and even the whole monocoque were from the car that nigel mansel drove.

I heard an interview of Adriane Galisteu, Senna's last girlfriend. It was something like this: - Who do you preferer? Prost or Piquet? - Prost. Prost forever! - Why? - Senna's relationship with his team was getting worse and he would not sign a new contract with them. Later, all the drivers were signing their contracts and Senna doesn't. He changed his mind and was desperate, because at this point he would have no team 4 the next year. He was calling for a lot of other teams (continue...)

Senna fanboys have so little idea. They call the very great Prost a coward, they say he left Williams because he was afraid of Senna. The truth is Prost decided to leave F 1 for several reasons, not the least because the press hated him. Prost had been badly treated by McLaren and Honda who gave all the attention to Senna, in fact in 1989 after Prost had said he was leaving McLaren Senna tried to get McLaren to fire Prost, because Prost was leading the title race. Maybe that was Senna being afraid he could not beat Prost even with McLaren, Honda and the bad points system that had given Senna the 1988 title. Then in 1990 Senna crashed into Prost rather than race on the track. No wonder Prost did not want to be in the same team as Senna.
@ParadigmStages

Barrie Rodliffe Omfg you do realize in 1989 the year before prost had done that to Ayrton,technically cheating his way to the 1989 WC by taking Senna out...and before you call me a 'Senna fan boy' I actually appreciate the both of these drivers skills but clearly is wrong what Prost started Senna just finished...
@barrierodliffe4155
@barrierodliffe4155 6 жыл бұрын
I do realize that Prost was leading the title race by 21 points before Suzuka and Senna crashing into him did not affect the title. Senna had a bad habit of colliding with other drivers, Prost never cheated. The big difference is 1989 if you blame Prost or Senna for the crash it was a racing incident at fairly low speed. Nothing can excuse Senna deliberately crashing into Prost in 1990 at high speed on a dangerous corner, it was just luck that no one was hurt.. Senna should have raced on the track in 1990 but he obviously did not think he could beat Prost and since Prost was not at McLaren Honda could no longer give Senna more power than they did for Prost.

Piss off stop talking crap. Prost beat Senna on points in both their seasons together, it was just that the old scoring system saw only the best 11 results counted. Prost even went to Ferrari in 1990 and nearly won the WDC that year too. When Senna won races, invariably everyone cheered. When Prost won no one cared because as Prost himself says "I was boring (compared to Senna)" Prost lacked charisma and didn't like feeling under appreciated. Prost had multiple champs as his teammate & beat them

I agree with most of what you say but take exception to your assertion that Prost lacked charisma. Niki Lauda was apprehensive of Prost when he first came to McLaren but in his autobiography he says that his suspicions eventually disappeared and he realised that Prost was simply warm friendly and straightforward. Senna was flamboyant but I liked the comment of the motorsport correspondent who commented on his win in the 1987 Brazilian GP. "Prost putting it over the best in the business with the minimum of fuss or effort." That sounds very much like a master craftsman.

If the Renault turbo was more reliable he'd be 1982 and 1983 champion as well. Had the Monaco GP gone the full distance and Prost would finish 2nd (if Senna won in the Toleman) he'd win the 1984 title with 1 point, rather than losing it by half a point. He did win 2 more races than Lauda in 1984... Jim Clark was a champion and a gentleman too. It's hard to match his record, especially considering the times he raced in and the opposition.
@jpc7118
@jpc7118 4 жыл бұрын
Prost lost the title cause the rules wanted that a race had to do a minimum of rounds, and Prost was leading a race which has been stopped because Lauda asked it to stop (cause of harsh rain), the race was about a bit more than half done, and Prost only earnt 4,5 points for the victory, instead of the usual 9 points for it. Finally, Lauda won the title for half a point ! But lauda always recognised that in his mind, Prost would have deserved to win the championship this year. Prost didn't complain because he was admiring Lauda (he told it many times on french TV) and BTW they were both very true friends also.

@@A-m-K The key word is "wanted" but couldn't or didn't. The end result was Prost moved to Williams first. Besides, contracts are worthless in F1. Just look at Sergio Perez as an example. He had a contract with Racing Point and was let go. Now with Red Bull, he is constantly threaten by being told if he does not perform well his contract will be ignored and let go. Obviously, you are "clueless" as to the validity of F1 contracts. They are not worth the paper they are written in.
@A-m-K
@A-m-K 6 ай бұрын
@@KenSerpico5450 My answer was to this one particular, ridicilous comment from you: "even to the point of following Prost around from team to team". You take one incident for the whole F1 history? And they might let go Perez if he doesnt perform, but not without the salary for the rest of his contract. Also, how can you compare in this case Senna´s contract at McLaren with Sergio Perez his situation. In 1985 Senna moved to Lotus, yes, even though he still had 2 years in his contract. The only reason for that to happen was the fact that he (or to be more exactly, his father) bought him out. First of all the amount of his his salary at Toleman is nowhere near comparable to his salary that he got at McLaren, and secondly, Ron Dennis wouldve never let him go, even if Aytron Senna wouldve offered to buy himself out of his contract (plus especially not to Williams, of all teams). He even offered Frank Williams to drive for free for the 1992 season, but as i said, there was no way Ron Dennis wouldve let that happen. Also, if we are already at it, tell me one team which Alain Prost left in good terms, just one. (Right off the bat, if you can, without googling first, but im pretty sure thats not gonna happen). And in 13 seasons Prost was practically almost exlusively in top teams, almost only driving in either one of the most, or THE most competitive, championchip caliber car. Yet both of them have identical Race/Win ratios, and during the two years when both drove for the same team, if you look at every race in which both finished (without dnf`s), who do you think had the upper hand? Im gonna tell you: Ayrton Senna.
@KenSerpico5450
@KenSerpico5450 6 ай бұрын
@@A-m-K Your assumption I was comparing Sergio to Senna is erroneous. I was simply referencing Perez as an example, not a comparison. Daniel and Albon too (as two more recent examples, not comparisons with Red Bull) were dismissed well short of their contracts. Manosia. In 1993 Prost was 38, Senna 33. Prost won, as for over the hill he was 3 times Andros trophy winner in 2008, 2009 an 2012. so he was still a fast and capable driver at 53 to 57, he beat quite a lot of younger drivers..

Well Senna died at 34 so we'll never know how he would have been. But probably at least another couple of championships or more

Lake. Not judging from his performance at the start of 1994, Damon hill was doing better

you only say that because you are armenian and Prost's mum was armenian. So your opinion is biased. Anyway, if Alain's father is French and his mother Armenian descent then that makes him French first and foremost. Sorry for shattering your dreams xD
