Not a fan (yet?) but Alamat is one of the PPop groups I appreciate. Their songs would have more languages/dialects than just Tagalog and English. And they incorporate culture into their music so well. I stan artists that are unapologetically them

I love this Ppop group. They are all from different areas of the Philippines 🇵🇭 so they sometimes sing in diverse languages. They always share the culture in some way. So happy you’re exploring P-Pop and OPM as a whole! Alamat has so much to offer of us. It’s not just the incorporation of our different languages but the use of beats and nuances like specific choreography gestures that make them unique. For example, that beat was based on Sinulog drumbeats, which is a huge religious and cultural festival that spans several provinces in the Visayas. The use of Bisaya and the choice of themes in their clothing ties it in as well. We’re not really that heavily represented in the Visayas region (or in Mindanao) so Day and Night hits home in a great way.

About Alas, yes he is quite funny but I must say, THEY are all funny, quirky and crackheads. If you watch their vlogs in their dorm house (BALAY ALAMAT), they are chaotic hahahaha. Alas is just sometimes good in hiding that side in MVs, wishbus and events. I think most bisaya (Alas' region) folks have this masculine/mysterious/cool(astig) aura in them. kinda like SB19's Ken, who is also a bisaya. And that is the reason why they are my bias. My bias in this group is Jao but Alas is my favorite rapper in P-Pop. There's just something about his delivery that hits really hard, in part because of his Bisaya accent. R-Ji's tattoos are real. I think the only member who isn't tattooed might be Taneo? And I think Alas is the most heavily tattooed (current) member. Before, I think it was probably Valfer.

Ugh, rewatching this reminded me that the Wish Bus owes Magiliws so many recordings! Alamat has actually performed pretty much all of their songs from 2021-2023 but Wish simply hasn't uploaded them for some reason. These songs include, but are not limited to: Sa Panaginip na Lang Walang Hanggan Aswang Kbye Wish hasn't uploaded anything for the recording 2 weeks ago where they performed songs from their latest album either. Thank God for fancams!
