I agree they feel authentic Philippino. The choreography has a few dance steps from traditional tribal dance I recognize.

Ive seen them in person about 5 times, very majestic and unreal! they are good singers but they are yet to be a hundred percent confident without backtracks but they’ll get there! ❤

Oh and the full choreo for Dayang is amazing. One of my fave Alamat choreos ever! They have a vlog about it too. It's not subbed but most of it is just footage of them rehearsing so you aren't missing much even if you don't understand what they say.

For interviews, try to check the videos with Jessica Lee. She is Korean but raised in the Philippines. She also did a video with SB19. They have a game guessing different Filipino Languages (w/ interview at the end) and another one with different foods from the members' regions. I think Jessica's video might have subs. Can't remember Alamat's video but they may speak Taglish as Jessica tends to speak in English. Not sure if it is English subbed but there is something with Debise Laurel where they are playing some games.

i went to Uni in southern Philippines in a city so diverse it was weird hearing from 4-8 languages on campus for the first time. I'd hear Dayang Dayang everywhere, that word i associate to those happy years. so when i saw the list of titles for this album, i was so excited to hear their version thinking it would be a translated rearranged version of that classic song. lets say this one is even better than what i imagined 😊. dont get me wrong They did well with Por que, but I'm glad they took a localised word/term and introduced it to the world

Say U Love Me BTW, you really need to check G22's live performance of "Babalik" and "Boomerang" in Show It All China. The girls were fire. It's a must watch if you like vocals. Bini also did their "Karera" live! Both dope and you will enjoy it! Chinese stage is lit!

The choreography of this song is one my favorite P-pop choreographies. Actually before Moonlight was released, this was my favorite. And they have three versions of this song.

you are so right, that backing vocals should be tone down more, just FYI on their 1st ever concert they used a live band and the boys sang their hearts out. I recommend alamat's DITO. you'll love it!

Don't worry, you're not wrong in that most of their dances are infused with some indigenous dances, so don't worry about thinking that you're 'tokenizing' them. Notice, they're are all in black/natural hair era like SB19 too.

Love Alamat and what they chose to represent and their message as well! Thyro is also a great singer. The first song I came across from him is called Kiss (with another artist, Yumi) which is in English and is R&B vibes if you ever wanna check his out his discography. But I remember reading something before that he enjoys producing, which I'm happy about as we get great songs like this and Maharani. And he has worked with other artists like Sarah Geronimo and James Reid. Alamat has covered one of his songs as well called Litrato.

Hi.thanks for reacting to ALAMAT again. I think their choreography is from the southern part of the Philippines (Mindanao). In honor of the Tausug theme (the other language they use in this song), the choreo is inspired from south Philippine dances and martial arts such as Pangasik, Kuntaw, Silat and Tariray, designed to be less hiphop(swag) and more native(elegance and energy)- (from Direk Jason Paul Laxama's tweet). ALAMAT has also performed this in It's showtime, Gud morning kapatid and Eat bulaga.
