Grammy Award Winning legendary music icon and master of progressive rock, Alan Parsons will return with a new album, “The Secret” via Frontiers Music Srl.
Alan’s longtime hobby has been performing magic and this brand new album showcases his own passion for the craft, hence the title “The Secret.” The album sees a return to the pop rock sound with symphonic and progressive rock interludes which the Alan Parsons Project was known for.
"Magic has always been a passion of mine, I am a member of The Magic Castle in Los Angeles. I've also worked with the Japanese magic company Tenyo, writing instruction books and catalogs for their tricks. I dabble with magic myself in my free time, so an album with magical influences was a natural progression”.

To my brother Timothy September 16, 1957 - September 29, 2023. My hand was on his chest when the nurse took him off the respirator and I felt him breathe his last breathe, and felt his heart beat its last beat. I'll meet you there, brother, but not yet, not yet.

My dad introduced me to Alan's music when I was a kid growing up in the 90s. I adored all of it. In 2019 I got the chance to fly down to Florida with my dad for the Cocoa Beach concert, for the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. It was the first time I've seen him in concert. And for him to bring a stool and a guitar center stage to play this song... It was practically a religious experience. Thank you Mr. Parsons. For everything.

@@robertomartinez-nl3ks Alan has widely and often acknowledged Eric as the songwriting brains of the group, with Alan writing mostly the instrumentals. As for the actual production, Eric usually left that to Alan's judgement. The most notable exception is "Don't Answer Me". My grandfather bought for me the LP back then, and that song became the soundtrack for that trip, the memories my grandfather. I am so glad to have Alan Parsons with us, offering us wonderful music, and wonderful videos. In the world of today we are almost forgetting what good music is, and we are losing the culture of music videos. Thank you very much from an fan for many many years. God, I hate when people say stupid shit like this and compare classic rock artists to rap, especially when YT views are concerned. First of all, RAP IS A VIABLE FORM OF MUSIC. To constantly say things like that is, honestly, borderline racist. Just because you’re white doesn’t mean you have to bash the music of another culture because you don’t (choose to) understand it. Second, what makes you think this would EVER get played on today’s radio? This kind of music just isn’t what most young people like today, and the sooner delusional old people who think they know everything get over themselves, the better. Finally, if you really want to know what’s wrong with this world, just read the headlines RIGHT THIS MINUTE. What’s popular in music is NOT a measure of the world’s standing. And before you get on me, yes, I’m 32, Black, and love Alan Parsons AND rap. There’s room for both, and I am living proof. So PLEASE think before you post. Unless, of course, you have this fetish where you get off looking like a fool on the Internet, in which case, no judgement. I don’t do that. Sorry that you do.

I have been a big fan of Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson since APP started. It’s too bad they never toured in their heyday. They would have been huge. But to his credit Parsons has toured with various bands in the last several years. His music is unique , colourful, dreamlike and unmistakeable . Great , heartfelt song . And in Parson’s own voice! Love it as well as One Note Symphony . Sure hope he’s going to be ok for at least a few more years!

I set out to make my mark To forge a road despite the dark Though clouds of doubt have grayed the path I followed through and faced the wrath My sword was cast in songs of light In sparks and waves - enchanted nights Crafting tales and magic spells Clever sounds in silent realms When I find my way to that peaceful glen There will be no regrets left on that road Though the burden is great, every now and then I would still go back and carry that load Meet me there as lights fall This will be my curtain call Meet me there as lights fall A humble bow to close the show My heartfelt thanks before I go When the curtain falls I'll fade away We'll meet again in a magic glade When I find my way to that peaceful glen There will be no regrets left on that road Though the burden is great, every now and then I would still go back and carry that load Meet me there as lights fall This will be my curtain call Meet me there as lights fall Oh for one more trip around the sun One more dance behind the moon When my final feat is done I'll share the moment here with you Meet me there as lights fall This will be my curtain call Meet me there as lights fall This will be my last call

@@yadigjamesgang-xs7jj I think you could call 70s Led Zep prog-rock, I think Alan Parsons Project are more art or symphonic rock or even pop, than say progressive bands of the time who displayed virtuosity within their respective supergroups, I'm talking about bands like Yes and Emerson, Lake and Palmer and that sort of thing where it is technically off the scale in difficulty of execution.

I have been an Alan Parsons dis-hard fan, since I heard “The Raven” on an old transistor radio, and I immediately purchased the debut album by the APP, when it came out in 1976. I was big fan of Edgar Allen Poe. I have all his APP albums, in addition to most, if not, all. When “The Secret” was released, I loved the them of magic. So I ordered it right away. I have a lot of favorite songs. However, “As Lights Fall,” falls in my top 3 Alan Parsons songs. GREAT news is that I will be seeing Alan perform 25 minutes away from me, on February 3, 2022, and I have a ticket for a really good seat. ❤️❤️❤️

Yes, this is really a fine auto-biographical song about PARSONs approach to music and the history of his career. When I remember right, he sat already behind the engineer's desk for PINK FLOYD's "Atom Heart Mother" in 1970, at the age of 20! For the All-Time PF Classic "The Dark Side of the Moon" in 1973, he was the leading sound engineer, with 22 or 23! And when I bought & heard the first AMBROSIA album in 1975, a highly gifted US-Westcoast Progressive Rock band, which he produced as sound engineer, it blew my mind - this is a forgotten gem he had his fingers on the knobs. When I became 20, he released - together with ANDREW POWELL and firming under his own ALAN PARSONS PROJECT - the Masterpiece "The Tales of Mystery & Imagination", which blew my mind once again. Also look for the band KEATS, a spin-off of ALAN PARSONS PROJECT musicians, whose great album he produced (with keyboarder PETE BARDENS / ex-CAMEL, COLIN BLUNSTONE a.o.). I am curious about the new APP album - this is a great song with his fine songwriting and arranging trademarks. Thank you, Alan, for your great work in Music!

Alan actually answered your question in several vids that he posted. He said that when they would record a demo for a song, Woolfson would always provide the vocal track for it as a guide and then they'd commence to trying out several guest vocalists to see which one fit whatever key the song was being recorded in and that would be the one that they'd go with. Most of the time, it was Woolfson's vocal that fit the key of the song and not Alan's.

@@clarkclements7204 If you're just 24, then you definitely have good taste in music. My niece is about your age and she's into hip hop stuff. Tried to turn her onto this stuff, but she always tells me I'm too old. But I am over the hill. 51 to be exact. If you've followed my comments, you will know that my various tastes in music come from the fact that my late father was a professional musician and entertainer for 50 plus years. I started out at 3 years old in 1972 as his band's roadie hauling his music equipment in and out of gigs and later moving on to being his equipment technician fixing his guitars, cords, and PA systems at 7 years old in 1976. Did that for 45 years until my dad's death five years ago. I'm both a certified electronics technician and computer technician because of it. My dad made a career out of playing nightclubs, hotel lounges, special events and being a session musician guitarist on other artists' projects way before cable TV, VCR, DVD Players and Internet changed how we get our entertainment. Back then, people used to have to go out to nightclubs for entertainment. Then DUI laws came along and basically all but ended it. I've created many playlists, many based on songs that were popular during certain years of my schooling and work. They're all listed under the playlists tab on my profile page.
