Alan Partridge On The Royal Baby: I Like The Name Brian

11 жыл бұрынAt the premiere of his new film Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa, Alan Partridge has suggested the royal baby be named Brian.
Mr Partridge told Sky News: "I quite like the name Brian. I'm hoping they're going to call him Brian."
The star of Radio Norwich said his film celebrated "the essence of Norfolk".

Not really any more, we used to have extraordinary choice, Game On, Bottom, The Upper Hand, Allo Allo, Some Mothers Do Ave Em, early Red Dwarf, George and Mildred. These days all we get are American stuff and the occasional Britcom where the biggest joke is someone using the F-word.

I literally spat cider all over my computer after only a few minutes listening to the Audio Book. I had to stop and then sadly realised it would be impossible to ever play this near to my computer or on the bus ever again...Steve Coogan...I'll forever love you for that and this genius creation.

he did say Swaffham, Cromer and and Sheringham correctly! What is everyone talking about? I've lived in Dereham, K.Lynn, Aylsham, Heydon, Buxton, Lenwade, Brandiston, and others in Norfolk, and I can assure you all the places he mentioned were said correctly...if you speak English correctly anyway. Check the sound output on your computer/phone etc!

So funny when he mentions his celebrity friends like Bill Oddie and Noel Edmunds. Long before Partridge was concocted I had a best pal at school who I’ve still got on tape of us doing a similar character like a mix between between the Olympics commentators and the bad radio DJ playing Rick Wakeman and ELOs greatest hits. Just a brilliant character who folk can connect with as folk like Partridge do exist.

hahaha the short sleeve jacket. ok look, i don’t know if Alan Partridge is a parody of an English archetype, i have no reference; i’m a born Arab living in Canada, i have no clue what goes on in England, but this character is an amazingly successful take on cringe comedy.

Mr Partridge will go down, in the passages of time much akin to Eleanor of Aquitaine... there'll be crosses erected in town squares across the length and bredth of Norfolk, Suffolk, Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Milton Keynes, the lot. All paying reverence to this behemoth, titan of broadcasting educating young and old. 🙏
