I think many are totally ignoring 1 setting DLSS Performance. I ve RTX 4070 Ti and I play with Graphics at Ultra, RT LOW with DLSS Performance at 4k and 2 be fair it was great, I was totally amazed 2 see DLSS performance was not at all making it look bad like many wud say. I also forgot FG was ON. I was able to get 64 fps average with these settings with my 12700k. So I feel you could ve added DLSS 0performance to high demanding game videos like Cyberpunk, Alan Wake 2, etc cuz DLSS Performance renders game at 1080p so it seriously gives good performance without much visual compromise. 1 thing is sure even DLSS Performance is better tha FSR quality

the MSI 4080 super has a silent bios and a normal bios. Do you use the silent or quiet bios and can you say how much rpm the fans have?

i use performance bios. Fans are set to auto in msi afterburner for me so fan speed overwrites the bios

i just dont now why devlopers make games that cant run on 1440p at high settings at 60 on a freaking 4080supoer I just don't get it

I don't mind the idea that they push technology and graphics. At least we have the choice to turn ray tracing/path tracing off if we don't want to use it

Im running this on a 13700k 4080 and in this forest I'm getting almost exactly the same frames as this. Seems strange I would have thought there would be have been more of a difference with the 14900k.

Thanks! Nice video. Card is also awesome. But what is better in your opinion: change 4070 to 4080 Super, or wait for RTX 5000 series? I have Ryzen 5800x3D / 4070 (normal). 1440p resolution

I cant tell when Ray Tracing is on and off :] at all.. only thing is I feel the extra FPS with it off:]

You notice it more in the lit up areas like when i'm in the city area with the lights from the billboards. Its sometimes hard to tell though from a compressed youtube video

I tried Ray Tracing in a couple of games, and in every single one the FPS boost when Ray Tracing is off makes the game feel better.. Forza Motorsport is a good example, I can actually tell Ray Tracing there is on because the asphalt looks awesome and there are some nice lights on cars.. But the FPS impact is so high, from 120 FPS to 80, sometimes even 60.. @@BenchmarkBoy

@@pivkaaa Imo I think the performance impact is worth it but not in all games ofc, but I only have a 60hz monitor xD. So that's why this isn't an issue for me.

I tell you what. Its doing a much better job at 4k then my 3080 10 gb 😂 like a 30%-50% in raster and 60%-80% in raytrace pathtrace. Of course the 10gb of vram doesnt help the 3080 at all in this game

The hardware isn't powerful enough for this game yet. Current gen GPUs just don't have enough rendering power to properly utilise PT and get all the benefits of it. When you enable RT in demanding games, like Alan Wake 2, especially PT, you have to compromise on so many other settings and render the game at a lower resolution to make it even playable with PT, and with that many compromises, it downgrades the quality, and PT isn't worth it then.

It certainly is demanding this game with max everything. 4080 realistic it’s 1440 , only 4090 at 4K. Much better upscaled using dlss 100+fps tho. Regen is the future for games like this, but to only achieve this on the top few gpus is mind blowing.

How long do you reckon before the '80' tier of cards can do 4k native path tracing 60 fps?

@BenchmarkBoy Probaly another two generations. It mostly depends if Nvidia decides to use the flagship 102 chips or the high end 103 chips for 80 class GPUs. For example, the 3080 was on GA102, but the 4080 is based on AD103.

@@cyycyycyycyycyy1 no, path tracing is a different thing. ray reconstruction is dlss 3.5. It helps improve the image quality and fps with path tracing

Games developer like Alan wake 2 should design games that are playable in 1440p for mid tier gpu. 60fps max settings with RT and PR. To get 60fps for this game you kind of need a 999 usd gpu. Waste of money.

This one of those weird titles to me where I honestly think the PS5 version looks better than the PC version. For what alan wake 2 is pushing out on the sceeen with max settings, it is visually very underwhelming compared to other games that can output similiar graphics (especially in the forrest areas) at a much higher framerate on lower end tech. I dont get at all the hype around this games visuals, yeah the new york city part looks cool but like 70% of the game looks like an indie title. ”The last of us part 1” on pc has way better graphics in general and runs smoother. That being said I still like alan wake 2 because its whacky and cool but the graphics hype is just nonsense to me

I don't mind using AI to facilitate rendering I've worked on quite a lot of ai projects. but some devs' mindset of relying on dlss and frame gen out of the gate is pretty stupid
