This video brings you a lecture talk by Alan Watts, discussing the philosophy, practice and wisdom of Buddhism, as well as attainment of enlightenment. The key message is that by seeking enlightenment, you move away from obtaining it. His talk is blended with ambient music and naturalistic environments/graphics that help make for a more immersive and relaxational journey through Watt's insights:

Yeah, you should just find something else of interest,that way it's easier for those of us who are trying to be positive. You don't HAVE to comment,you can just let this silly man babble on & laugh about how dumb we all are. Peace Earthling.

This is a nice compilation. I would adjust your audio levels a bit as the background music is competing with Alan Watts voice level.

@@watchdiscover If I'm not mistaken, you can use Audacity for it, it has a function which levels the audio throughout the video.
@MaximC
@MaximC Жыл бұрын
@@watchdiscover So let's say you have multiple songs, and multiple pieces of Alan's lectures. You take those songs and create one track, and use that function in Audacity to level the track's audio. Then you take and stitch together Alan's speeches in one track and level the audio on that one. And that way songs and Alan's voice will not be different every few minutes anymore. I think that's how it works. I mean I think that's how it might be used for your purposes.

@@MaximC Since this video I’ve been carefully adjusting the background so it does not compete but I have heard of this software too, thank you for this suggestion . Wish I could merely replace this video with a new version , like as SoundCloud works

@@watchdiscover It's fine, you'll just make a better version in the future. Levelator, by the way. I think that's what I meant, more specifically. But maybe it's a plugin in Audacity, I don't remember precisely.

In a small Zen monastery nestled deep in the mountains, Alan Watts found himself surrounded by dedicated students seeking enlightenment. One day, a new student arrived, known for his mischievous antics and playful nature. Curious about the young man's approach to Zen, Alan decided to engage him in a conversation. "Tell me," Alan asked with a smile, "how do you plan to attain enlightenment?" The mischievous student chuckled mischievously and replied, "Ah, enlightenment! It's like chasing a cat's tail. The harder you chase it, the faster it runs away. But when you stop chasing, it comes to you." Amused by the young student's metaphor, Alan decided to play along. "Ah, I see. So, if I stop seeking enlightenment, it will come to me?" The student nodded, grinning mischievously. "That's right! Enlightenment is like a mischievous cat. It hides in plain sight, waiting for you to stop trying so hard." Alan pondered this for a moment and then asked, "But what if I don't chase enlightenment, and it doesn't come to me either?" The mischievous student burst into laughter, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Then, my dear master, you must become the cat!" Alan burst into laughter himself, realizing the profound truth hidden within the student's playful words. In that moment, he understood that the key to enlightenment lay not in desperate pursuit but in the joyful embrace of the present moment. From that day forward, Alan Watts embraced the mischievous spirit of the Zen student, reminding himself and others that enlightenment is not a goal to be achieved but a playful dance with the present moment. Join us in this delightful video as we explore the wisdom and humor of Alan Watts, reminding ourselves to relax, let go of our attachments, and, if need be, even become the cat! Remember to like, comment, and share this video with fellow seekers of wisdom and laughter. And don't forget to subscribe to our channel for more delightful stories and insightful teachings from Alan Watts and other brilliant minds. Stay tuned and stay enlightened!

Listening for the 10th time tonight and makes me shed tears everytime. Somehow the music multiply the meanings and i realize even Buda dies without understanding anything. Everything we make up as goals meanings journeys etc are all distractions, from the reality, death and meaningless life, or rather our inability to ever understand anything the means something
