Here is the speech: "A person who thinks all the time, has nothing to think about except thoughts. So, he looses touch with reality, and lives in a world of illusions. By thoughts I mean specifically, chatter in the skull. Competeral compulsive repetition of words, of reckoning and calculating. I'm not saying that thinking is bad, like everything else its useful in moderation. A good servant with a bad master. And all so called civilized peoples, have increasingly become crazy and self-destructive, because through excessive thinking they have lost touch with reality. That's to say, we confuse signs, words, numbers, symbols, and ideas, with the real world. Most of us would rather have money than tangible wealth. And a great occasion somehow spoiled for us and less photographed... And to read about it the next day in the news paper, is oddly more fun for us than the original event. This is a disaster. Or as a result of confusing the real world of nature with mere signs such as, bank balances and contracts, we are destroying nature. We are so tied up in our minds that we've lost our senses, time to wake up. What is reality? Obviously no one can say, because it isn't words, it isn't material that's just an idea. It isn't spiritual, thats also an idea, a symbol. Reality is this..." -Alan Watts Note: This took so long to write, but its so worth it. Has to be one of my most favorite speeches of all time.

Before I get another comment regarding this... I DEEPLY apologize for the music being louder than Alan Watts voice- I made this video two years ago and I had no expectations of it acquiring viewers; as someone in the comments has said, it ultimately depends on the setup you have when listening to this video, for me, I can hear the words & the music perfectly fine- rather, I could. Back when I made the video everything was fine, obviously since time has passed, I've acquired a different setup and sound system, so I can sympathize with your guys' complaints. Again, I'm sorry that the video is disappointing to many, but at the same time there's nothing I can do now.

My favorite part is that he uses simple words and even sometimes stutters so this really shows that it's coming form his heart, that it wasn't scripted. Nowadays everything is scripted, planned because people are scared of saying something wrong, but, In reality, the mind and the heart creates the the best speeches. The best quotes the best everything. Everyone is scared of going against someone's opinion. The mind only speaks its belief, it's thoughts, it's opinions. You shouldn't care what others think, the only Important thing is to agree with what you think. Going against you brains opinion is destroying the whole point of consciousness. Don't be scared, because the mind creates the best thoughts. Creating new opinions can be done, but not when your not sure of it. -Me 2023

Most of us have a problem whether it’s ocd, bipolar, or adhd. Most of us can not treat these issues because each of us have one or the other but if we teach each other how to love and care and heal one another then the world will be at peace and not in the bad way. We just shouldn’t die or kill this planet we need to save this planet because the planet being gone would be the destruction of many things maybe the universe in itself. So we all need to stop at our own tracks at a certain point because torturing the world is worse than torturing yourself. Loving yourself can only make you love the world just as much. That’s why I love myself so deeply and the ones around me.

So I will follow the way I see is fit and what it is making me feel. I will transform myself to be the greatest my words transform my thoughts. And my thoughts transform my words in other words I transform my reality because I know which words to say and which words to act on. I know how to live life in a better way and that’s by making myself joyful and to love life. Not hate it that only brings chaos.

Anybody can become like Jesus because Jesus was great and was good he did everything he could to be perfect for the world and to get the world to be perfect but that wasn’t enough to not get him killed… Jesus loved the world more than he loved himself so that’s why he did everything he could to stop the world from ending itself. He wanted the greatest for his own world that God created for him to fix but even when God became him that wasn’t enough. So God chose to crucify him to end the reality that the world created for them. For God and Jesus combined this world was hell but God and Jesus tried to make it heaven. To make everybody lay down their guns and to not kill and hurt one another.

Nailed it. I do not have the capacity to change anything, even myself. And again yep, the real "I" is dead. Mr. Watts aptly explains the distinction between body and soul (mind, will, and emotions), but misses while explaining the "real I" as part of the soul. The real "I" is our spirit. Easy to miss cuz our spirit is dead. We can do nothing to awaken our spirit. Only Jesus can. Jesus did not come to make bad things good. He came to bring dead things to life. Call out to Jesus to awaken your spirit and all things will become alive and you will have a new beginning.
