Like I said before, I really love this series of interviews Kelly O’Hara is really good also had no idea that Alana Cook is half British.

This was a great interview. Alana is so funny and thoughtful, not as serious as I thought. I love how connected Kelley is with everyone she interviews

I love these interviews and getting to see these players personalities. Alana is a very composed person and player. I think she gets a lot of negativity online from fans bc she’s had a few iffy games in the last couple years but I think she’s a great defender and she’s a threat on set pieces(she almost scored against wales) and I think she will have a great tournament.. especially next to Naomi Girma who in my opinion is the next Becky Sauerbrunn. Expect to see Naomi in the back line for this team for the next 15 years. Probably captaining the team as well.

The criticism is valid bc she’s made a few mistakes that cost the team. I think teams will attack her side more than Girma’s bc she’s not a ball playing defender which makes me nervous especially if the 6 is Andi Sullivan 💀

@@JohnnySoccer1977 I agree. I think Ertz needs to be right in front of them at the 6. I would even rotate Ertz into the CB spot next to Girma and maybe slide Dunny to the midfield

I think Alana in an effort to be calm composed, sometimes takes too long to extinguish threats. You can see she is reading them correctly because she stops the play but then takes too long to redistribute the ball or doesn't clear it enough. She's a little TOO analytical at times and that is what causes those iffy plays. On the other side, I think she could have a huge upside because she can be a scoring threat for us on set pieces because of her height, strength and speed. She just has to settle into the role and mature.

@@MKelly-pm1np I definitely agree she seems almost too calm sometimes. I think she definitely takes too much time on the ball but I think every player is going to step it up this tournament. Just hope that vlatko plays/starts the right players.
