I love how she completely transports herself to a place within when she sings.

Can’t believe this didn’t make the final cut on the new album. I love this song so much.

I bet (hope) it will come out as a b-side for Japan or something. Havoc and Bright Lights had like half an album's worth of bonus tracks.

@Taylor Holloway oh, i don't remember that. i try to listen to literally anything she does. but i do agree that it's got the sort of slow melancholy as Her and Diagnosis, so it might have dragged the album's overall tempo. (but i would trade it for Missing the Miracle in a heartbeat, tbh. don't tell her! ;) really it could've been another a capella Your House moment after Pedestal, if she could keep the pitch. that would've been a fun 25 year nod.

All these relief-givers The needle sure revs in the red Chemicals like drugs They feel like they come from my best friend You think me a coward but I am a warrior With many voices in my head When I looked around and I reached out I saw no alternative And God rest, God rest our souls And this substance is the only comfort I know He's been hurting for a while Can we cut this man some slack And let him lie down, let him lie down We are a country desperate for the embryonic I'm cold and I'm hungry And I yearn for a hand on my forehead You think it's a walk in the park and it's easy "She's got it as good as it gets" This misunderstanding's a line between living And being a walking dead And God rest, please rest our souls And the more I take the less comfort I know She's been pushing for a while Can we cut this woman slack And let her lie down, let her lie down The more that you hurl at me The more I will curl up in my bed Where's the humanity? Aren't we all hovering around the same end? Door number 1, 2 and 3 have been promises That aren't real enough to be kept You wish me a speedy recovery But when you turn I plumb the depths And God rest, God please rest our souls This is the surest exit I have known We've been hurting for a while Can we cut ourselves some slack And let us lie down, let us lie down Let us lie down, let me lie down

Looks so different from the 90s. Much more like her teen years. Looks are important in a way that we can assess anothers well being. She looks better than ever! I must say she is radiating a glow of pure goodness and content. So rare to see that.

She's said time and again that she can't imagine not writing music at 90 on her deathbed. I imagine (hope) there won't be a done for her. Especially now, if she can record on album with 3 kids literally on top of her, it would seem she's in (thank god) for the long haul.

I lost my first mentor at 13. He was 19. I pushed past. Grasped onto Linkin Park at 15. Lost my mom 10 years later. Lost Chester 8 years after that. Last year, lost my cousin. 4 people, lost to nonsense. Almost lost myself. But I wont. My appreciation for this song is endless. ♥️

This version sounds more polished and softer, less raw than the debut version on the linkin park concert. Small change in the chord progression also gives it a different, nuanced flavor.

Scott.. here is my insight as to why people feel the need to rudely flap their jaws while a wonderful artist spills her guts out for them..Because somehow, I believe, they believe that whatever it is they have to say is more important to them then having consideration for those around them and for her for that matter...Sadly seems to be the norm in 2018....
