Love Alannah Myles and that smooth, richness and power in her voice. This song, in a clever way, speaks of The King of Rock and Roll. She looks and sounds sultry as she oozes sex appeal with each step she takes. Got a 50's car in the drive and walks upstairs outta sight at the end. Wish it could have been Elvis she was going to see. I will never forget where I was and what I was doing, as a kid, that hot summers day. 16 August 1977. We all were shook when he left this world. Like when a head of State passes. Thousands lined the streets, and it was broadcast on tv. We were all transfixed in a moment of time. We watched, first the ambulance leaving Graceland. Then the slow Cortege of white limos following that white hearse, roll slowly down Memphis Streets. He touched so many of us in Tennessee, in the nation and around the world. Thank you Madalina for bringing back this little number. And for the remembrance of a time now long gone. Love ya. Big shoutout from your guy in East Tennessee. U.S.A. Much Peace and lots of love. Catch you on the next, babe. Go with God. Later.

I was a 16-year-old kid spending my paper route money at the pinball arcade. I too remember as if it was yesterday... 3rd ball, 2,000 points to go (a couple of bonus score flags) for a free game, and then the news came on the radio playing over the sound system. I froze and lost the ball down the middle. No more quarters, no more pinball, and no more Elvis all in one afternoon during the dog days of summer.

Great song! For some reason, I always think this song is older than it is. It always has the feel of like a Linda Ronstadt or Pat Benatar type song to me. Both of whom were huge female artists from the 70s and 80s that you should definitely check out! In fact, check out Linda Ronstadt's "Blue Bayou". There's a definite similar vibe to this song. Also, a lot of 90s country female artists where country had also been influenced by that era and sounded more pop and rock. Since Alannah Myles was Canadian, Shania Twain obviously comes to mind. She was huge, and if you want to talk about sexy, they didn't get much hotter than Shania! Martina McBride and Mary Chapin Carpenter also come to mind, but there were a lot of great 90s country female artists. I know that Alannah Myles had a bigger career than this song, but I'm not really familiar with it, and I think this was definitely a stand out song for her. Reminds me of Sophie B. Hawkins. She had a killer song in the 90s called "Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover", that you should definitely do, and I know she probably had more going on than that, but I don't really know it. If you want another fun one, a group called Divinyls had a song in the 90s called "I Touch Myself".

OK, I realize I threw out a lot of names but suggested only one song in particular. Just now I was doing my own thing, playing some Pat Benatar, and I realized. Any Pat Benatar you look up will be good, but if you want to shake those cute little shoulders of yours, look up the original music video for "Love Is A Battlefield". Just saying.

Not sure is she is still perforrming. There is a Ukrainian duo named Sershen & Zaritskaya (now known as No Apology) who did a pretty good cover of this song a few years ago.. I was so sure you were going to fall in love with Alannah that I dug up utube on my 70 inch tv before watching it. I was right and it was worth the effort to see your reaction. ❤

Мне нравятся твои реакции, Бисквитка ♥ Много уже посмотрел, спасибо тебе 🤩 Эта песня скорее Гари Мура напоминает, такое ощущение, что он её сочинил.

Always loved this song. I've noticed you always love when a good guitar comes on :D You definitely should have a listen to Gary Moore - Still Got The Blues. You gonna love his guitar playing and it's a really nice song too :)

Yet another example of why the 80s is such a beloved period for music. Some of the best Blues, Rock and Metal tunes came out between 1980 and 1995 (yes I'm extending the 80s to 1995 music-wise).

Alannah should have been bigger, since she is Canadian she got a lot of radio play here. It was mandated from the federal government that radio stations play a certain amount of Canadian artists, which helped many Canadian artists to make their mark, I don't get why it didn't help her more since she is a real talent. Many of her songs are like this, blues rock, one of my favourites, on the softer side, but still her distinct voice, is "Lover of mine".

Canada produced so many great female singers / performers like Alana Myles, Amanda Marshall, Alanis Morissette, Lee Aaron, Shania Twain, Avril Lavigne, Celine Dione, Nelly Furtado, etc. Who did I forget?
