Your last line about sitting in these cars and enjoying them hit home. If kids come by and I have a car somewhere, I always let them climb in, sit in the seat, dream about what that is like, and let parents take pictures. These are the future hobbyists and we need to let them enjoy the cars, too. let them know they aren't some rare item that can't be touched, but something that stirs your soul in how they feel and ride. Long ago at a swap meet with the race car, a dad came by with two little kids. He asked if he could step back with them to get a picture by the car. I opened the door and let them in, so they could have a picture "driving" it. You would have thought I was Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny all wrapped in one. It costs nothing, and really, they are just cars. Kids aren't going to hurt them.

Yes they need to be driven. I purchased my 70 Road Runner, mostly original minus new paint and factory ordered white top back in 2016. A lot of lessons learned in driving a car that is 52 years old, unrestored. You just don't turn the key and go driving. Rubber brake lines, seals in the carb, etc should all be gone through. Most of the comments I get are people saying it looks great unrestored. But it does need to be gone through at some point. I purchased the car when I retired from the Navy and drive it all the time. No power steering and manual brakes so YOU really drive the car. No car like a MOPAR!

Bob, I really enjoy your videos,I often wondered why you would punish your car in such a rough terrain.I'm glad you won't be making this journey again.I wouldn't attempt this in a new car let alone such a classic vehicle.Take care and God bless .

My goal , which is currently in progress, is turning my 1969 and 1970 Plymouth B-body 4 door cars into highly reliable and functional DAILY drivers. These cars can be made as reliable as the owner is willing to invest in maintenance and upgrades where needed.

I enjoyed all of the Alaska Trip videos. But did I miss something along the way? Why was water entering the interior of the Superbird?

Heavy rain combined with inadequate windshield and rear window caulking when windows were removed a number of years ago. Going to fix soon in prep for newfoundland trip in july!
