Interesting story but I don't know if enjoy is the word. Sharing the experience is always interesting but when its that close I can't enjoy that you had to go through it. Good video. Pax.

It was a close call and it was not pleasant to go through. However, I am thankful that it happened. It allowed me to gain a new perspective on how I view life and how easily it can be taken away. I think I grew up by a decade that day. I truly appreciate you watching the videos!!

Caleb- I'm thankful you survived and are here to tell the tale. I'm 71 in a few about grandson and his mom live with me. He will be 9 in October. I need some advice from anyone who wants to answer. I recently purchased a nerf gun for him from temu. He went to his mom yesterday, curious about something he found in the handle. It was a magazine with play bullets that shoot and the shell actually ejects. He is being raised by 3 women and sees his Dad every 2-3 months. I understand better why kids pick up guns and fire them. Way too often with tragic results. We have spoken to him about gun safety. I own 2 guns but my daughter has them hidden. Any advice on how to raise a responsible young boy. I watch hunting videos all the time. I don't watch when dogs or bait is used. It will be nice to continue watching your videos as you continue to learn. I had only one item on my bucket list... I wanted to hunt a alaskan grizzly or interior brown bear. Take care and hoping your subscribers continue to grow.

I appreciate your dedication to watching all the videos, and I'm really glad you enjoyed them! When raising a young man, consistency is crucial. You should establish clear household rules and explain why he must adhere to them. Whenever he deviates from these reasonable rules, administer minimal necessary punishment to reinforce the consequences. Remember, each child is unique, and your responses should vary accordingly. Explain to him that real life differs from a video game. In reality, pulling a trigger results in irreversible consequences, unlike a reset button in a game. You must consistently emphasize gun safety and drill it into his understanding. I hope this helps in some way. Sincerely Caleb

@RiseUpwithOutfitterServices thank you so much for getting back to me. Kieran is a sensitive child who looks out for others. I am looking forward to the fall bear hunts and all my favorites. Hunting for a kodiak brown bear is the only item on my bucket list. At 71, it isn't going to happen. My family had a run-in with one of the last grizzlies in an area called Rosylyn in the cascades about 85 miles outside Seattle. I was 8. When we came across the river, we saw a black bear cub by the river. I snuck marshmallows and peanut butter and smashed it into the trees. My parents were sleeping in our station wagon, my 3 sisters were in the family tent, and 4 yr old brother was in a pup tent with a friend. I woke up in the middle of the night to snuffling. I looked out the tent and saw a huge bear. I started screaming uncontrollably, and my parents turned on the headlights to see a grizzly. It was standing by the food safe that was a 10 foot stump with wooden shelves nailed on it. My Dad had been a ranger and knew it was a grizzly. He scared it off. He found our large coleman cooler that had left a trail of food. My mom made him pack up the family and leave. They were relocating the grizzlies that summer. I finally told him when in my late 40s. I have been in awe of them ever since. My family camped their many more times, and when we had our own families, we camped with them. I will be thinking of you and patiently waiting.

Man, the dangerous life of an Alaskan Hunting Guide! Mad respect for all of you who have chosen this hazardous and difficult yet rewarding profession. Caleb, you remind me, in a number of good ways, of Alaskan guide Billy Molls (Billy Molls Adventures on YT, a.k.a. "Modern Day Mountain Man"), with some of the near-death situations he too had barely made it through. Glad things turned out ok for you, and thanks for sharing!
