You know, the whole Adam fight seems rather dubious. It almost feels like Alastor threw the fight on purpose, especially when I can easily see him winning handily against the chief of the exorcists. His power set is more than sufficient to best Adam, he just didn't use it for whatever reason. Think about it. Alastor could have: 1. Snapped his fingers and opened up numerous combat applicable portals to simply banish and absorb all of Adam's holy light blasts. Who knows, it might have even been possible for him to redirect holy light energy via portal reversal. That's one way to nullify all of Adam's blasts, as well as his holy light guitar slash. 2. Conjured building-sized dark tendrils to ensnare and hold adam in place, (like he did in tandem with his barrier earlier) completely immobilizing him in the process. With that done, one of the tendrils could have wrenched the angelic steel guitar out of a helpless Adam's hands and finished him off with it. 3. May I remind you that Alastor's dark barrier was impenetrable to angelic steel. That's right. None of the angels could break through it, even with their holy arms. This feat in particular makes me believe Alastor is actually more powerful than even the Ars Goetia AND 6 out of the 7 deadly sins! It took someone like Adam, a contemporary of Lilith in terms of power, to bring down Alastor's shield with a holy light-powered punch! Adam = Lilith > 6 deadly sins and Ars Goetia In conclusion, Alastor is easily the strongest overlord, sinner, and the 3rd most powerful entity in hell; right behind Charlie and Lucifer, since Lilith and Eve aren't in hell and it's debatable whether Alastor can take on Charlie or Lilith. (I believe he can, but not without great difficulty.)
