Albert Hammond Jr. on touring, auditioning for Stranger Things, and how NYC has changed

The Strokes' guitar player stopped by The FADER's offices to talk about the expectations of touring, how auditioning for Stranger Things season two made him a better performer, and how it's hard to gauge if New York City has changed.
"Even if the city has changed, I might see it differently. I feel like people always look at the past because they just miss their youth," Hammond Jr. explains. "I'm pretty sure, if I all the sudden became 20 again, I would say 'New York is amazing!'"

The Strokes were one of the first indie bands I discovered. They were regularly featured on NME and I was lucky enough to grab a copy, on a school trip to Naxos, in 2006. I finished high school in Santorini, where they shipped like, one copy of NME. During school season, the island was deserted. Not much to do except going to church. Listening to this type of music, kept me sane. So, thank you.

he is still balding, you can see how thin his hair is. yet, he grew it back, and because it's long and curly, he can kinda hide his thinning on the top by proper styling
