I think,people are overlooking,the fact that the machine was so gentle,and the operator was so precise,that the stone,at 1:51,would have taken days,and,being very heavy,to remove,intact,by hand.

Carefully picks out and sorts every stick of wood , electric wire and scrap of steel: but when it comes time to save the hand carved dedication stone, OH well.

@@PreservationEnthusiast My dad has a company with a lot of historical buildings. They restore them and give them new function. And we are doing very well....

@@jesse7294 It depends on the planning and listed status. Sometimes all you can do is repurpose as housing. Not all buildings are suitable for that though and if you know anything about development, you will know you can make a lot more money by demolition and repurposing the site with a modern building which meets modern building codes and the demands of today's society.

@@PreservationEnthusiast The city has to cooperate but most times they are happy if historical buildings are restored and saved. we have lots of restaurants, cafe's, gym's and also apartments in the restored buildings. The insides are always meeting nowadays standards and users/tenants are always happy

It was junk and needed demolition. They probably wanted to put up some nice housing.

Yes, the morons who owned this historic building and demolished it turned the site into something really worthwhile that the whole community could use. A car park. If it was owned by the factory adjacent, this company is Swizzles-Matlow.

I'm not sure, I think it got into a bad state of disrepair and it is owned by the factory next to it. Is a shame.

So called banksman needs re-training,permanently on his phone and not concentrating on his job 😡.most of the time he stood in a dangerous area where debris could of shot off that sloping roof and flew over the herris fence
