Alcohol ink pendants - you want to have a go but you've got no alcohol inks, you aren't sure if you want to buy any because they are expensive and you have no idea if you'll enjoy using them.
Alcohol inks are expensive to buy and if you are new to it, who knows if you will take to it? This tutorial is to show you my alcohol ink hack - it's so easy and much cheaper to experiment with than buying lots of alcohol inks.
This is great fun to do and you'll be surprised by the results. And best of all, you don't need any art skills. You'll love what you can do with this technique.
As usual, I'm giving away a free printable with this tutorial. The link to my website is on the endscreen of the video.
Have a go at this amazing alcohol ink hack and who knows, you may want to go further and actually move into using the inks as well.

Hi Gilly, gorgeous pendants, such a shame about the spill, but a good lesson for all of us. I tested Yummy's hearing with today's video. I pressed play at a very low volume, she was in the kitchen, and gradually increased it till she started to react, then turned it down, then slowly up again. Eventually I left it up and let her come and listen to you. Can you guess what I did for 25 years ? Yep, tested people's hearing... Now I'm picking on the cat !! And she loved you as always.

Hi Ally (and Yummy!) 🐱 That’s amazing about the hearing test! I’m intrigued that it was your job for 25 years (not cats of course!). My mum just had her ears tested by the hospital audiologist and I was not prepared for how it was conducted at all. She initially spoke normally, to me telling me where to wheel my mum to and then she addressed my mum. I mean, she was brilliant, the most deafness friendly health professional I’ve ever seen but my goodness she made me jump in that tiny room. It was as if she was an actor throwing her voice across an auditorium from the stage. But I don’t think my mum asked her to repeat a thing which is a miracle. Do audiologist’s learn how to do that as part of one to one conversation? Because if I had to keep that up all day, I’d go mad! It was as if she knew how to throw her voice - not like ordinary shouting - very different. As always Ally, thank you both for watching and I hope you are having a lovely weekend down under😍🐈

@@RainbowLane Yes we are taught how to project our voices, and how to use very clear face to face speech. If there is one person you should be able to hear it's your audiologist !!

It’s a great skill to have. Must be something to do with how you use your diaphragm to push air out I suppose. Would love to know the difference between shouting and projecting.

I made my own alcohol ink with inside of markers and 99% alcohol. Work just as well as ones you buy. White is harder to do. Thanks for video, great tips!💞

Hello and thanks for watching. I’ve never done that so it’s good to hear that it works well. Yes, not quite sure how you’d tackle white🤔Thanks for your input, much appreciated.🙏💕

@@RainbowLane They dont work quite as well as professional ones tbh. But they were great when I first started, especially since I was on a very limited budget. Also works well if you run out of a color and dont want to wait on Amazon or make a trip to craft store before finishing a piece.

I guess that’s all part of the fun of being creative - we find these ways and means don’t we. What sort of stuff do you do? Always love seeing what art work people produce 😍

@@RainbowLane I like to call myself an Eklectic Artist lol. It varies on my mood and the season, everything from decoupage to resin, I work with clay and love to recycle/upcycle. I think I like best the challenge of doing it affordably and yet creatively! Love making jewelry but seldom wear it😂😂

Sounds wonderful to me! Keeps life interesting doesn’t it? Always something else to explore if you get tired of a certain craft for awhile. I know what you mean about not wearing what you make. Many years ago, I used to make clothes but I never wore anything I made - how crazy is that! The stuff I wear the most is the alcohol earrings, I just love them so much. But I have absolutely tons of other stuff I’ve made but rarely wear - I often end up giving pieces to my Great Neice who is 5 and loves having ‘jewels’😍Lovely to chat to a fellow arty crafter. Where in the world are you? USA? Time for 💤now. It’s been a long week! 🤪

Hi Denise, you’re welcome as always. 😍Yes, so little time to try all these lovely things! I used to get up to craft in the night to try and get more time but I had to stop through tiredness. Thanks for watching and take care🙏💕

Hi Jusfe, your comment brought tears to my eyes, I was so touched to read your words. That’s exactly why I have this channel, I love crafting so much and I love to share it with you all. I imagine us all focused on beautiful things, being busy creating to prevent being caught up in the madness of today’s world. It’s a shame we can’t all be round the same table encouraging each other - we have to pretend KZfaq is the table. Are you in the USA? Wherever you are, much love to you and keep on creating beautiful things and having fun in the midst of all the craziness. 🙏💐💕
