I did a bit of digging a while back. Pleiades cluster: from earth 10ly across, 60ly deep, from 360 to 420ly away from earth. I did the sane to confirm my visuals, from Orion's belt using star charts. Takes 2 seconds to find it. Most youtube video want you to start from tauruses ass, go to big bears crap pile and so on and on. Absolutely ridiculous. Keep up the good work. cheers

@@VegaAstroVideos Thanks. Something could be dwelling over there. I appreciate your effort to bring us graphs and data, such videos I have to look at several times. It's called seven sisters, but we can see 9 stars. Mythology refers to two of them as mom and pop. A cosmic Brady bunch, if you will, including the maid... In the Star Trek TNG's opening sequence, they did a nice job of animating the cluster. Since I live in Australia, I have to flip the charts in my head, if I can't find our view point. I couldn't find the "flip" option in google sky. Pleiades in on the left of Orion to us.

@@MISTERPRESIDENTELECT on the left of Orion? wow that's fascinating. I've never ventured further south than Gibraltar unfortunately. You've got some great stars down under though, thinking of the likes of Mimosa, Acrux and obviously Alpha Centauri. And I'd truly love to see the Southern Cross one day. I'll have to have a look see if I can find that StarTrek TNG sequence, sounds great. Delighted you're enjoying the videos!

even more crazy, it contains 5/15 of the brightest stars in our night sky, (6 if you include Betelgeuse) and yet it's actually on the way out of the milky way not toward the centre.. that blew my mind when I realised what an incredible coincedence it is that so many of the brightest stars are clustered together ! @@matsalvatore9074
