They are speaking about the potential of what Neymar could have been. Neymar's prime however is not even close to Kaka's prime. Kaka was a monster and did everything so much ease. So Kaka any day over Neymar.

Kaka or Neymar is a genuinely difficult question. Both were elite in their prime. Both made devastatingly poor transfer decisions (PSG and Real Madrid). Both suffered severe injuries. It is pretty difficult compare who was better though given that they were different players in different positions. Kaka was brilliant and his assist for Crespo in the 2005 UCL final is probably my favourite assist of all time. With his first touch he turns past (I think) Gerrard, then releases a beautiful curved through ball beating the stretched defender. Crespo's finish was brilliant as well. However, I probably have to give it to Neymar. Neymar between 2015 and 2017 was a different beast. In 2016 season he and Suarez ran the show whilst Messi was injured. Messi picked up an early season injury against Las Palmas and Neymar and Suarez both stepped up. Neymar scored an absolute worldie against Villarreal, had a phenomenal performance against Bayer Leverkusen and then he and Suarez dispatched Real Madrid 4-0 at the Bernabeu, with Messi being subbed on in the second half. In 2017 Neymar was great also. Things started to fall apart for Barcelona that season, causing Lucho to decide to leave, and people forget because they remember La Remontada against PSG and the last minute winner in El Clasico. Neymar was a shining beacon in what was otherwise a disappointing season. He practically put Barcelona on his shoulders in the Remontada. He is the one who won the penalty (scored it too), scored the free-kick and assisted the winner for Sergi Roberto. I'd say that Neymar was probably the best player in the world during that match, briefly surpassing Messi who was relatively quiet in that match against PSG.

thing is these neymar fans didn't watch football back in 2000s. these people probably were too young back in 2003 when kaka joined Milan. in his first year Ancelotti started to bench maestro rui costa in favour of kaka. thing is after watching both kaka & neymar difference is neymar looks pretty on the ball and people fell for it & kaka as Ancelotti said in his interview kaka was much more effective didnt waste time showing off he wasn't holding the ball too much the ball as it could cost u an opening of u r holding the ball for extra 2 seconds, his intelligence on the field was superb he knew when to release the ball, superb vision of the play, vertical dribbling without wasting time. speed acceleration in tight space breaking opponents defence in the middle. shooting. Ancelotti said playing kaka on his team was a cheat code as he was a threat for 120min. Ancelotti played kaka even as striker becoz of his insane acceleration & speed & shooting. as for neymar apart from showing off of the ball he has very little going for him he was never as fast as kaka even when he was in his prime and hold the ball too much just like his early days as a result a lot of time it costs "tempo di gioco" meaning there was an opening for a key pass but since neymar hold the ball for extra 2 seconds opponent's defence was able to close that space so that opening is gone so he isn't being as effective as kaka on this aspect and he still isn't improving on this. basically neymar never had that same effectiveness , if i was about to list everytime neymar s holding the ball costing an opening i could write a book
