I dunno, Ronaldinho had more potential than Neymar. And ye, i agree that 2 the most wasted talents in football's history were Ronaldo el phenomenon and Ronaldo gaucho (aka Ronaldinho). And i mean, Ronaldinho had a potential of Maradona, and so Ronaldo in his prime was the best nr. 9.

@@tropicaltrev1617 Yes they were. If Ronaldo el phenomenon stayed fit he would MOST CERTAINLY score more goals overall than Ronaldo7. Mourinho didnt joke when he said r9 was better than r7. Im not sure if you watched Barcelona in 2000-2002 and if you know how much Barcelona's playstyle changed since Ronaldinho joined the club... But ye, he had only 3 great seasons. If he stayed fit he could have had status of Maradona. Literally.

This conversation isn’t even a debate. Ronaldinho is a generational talent and had an amazing career. For me the most enjoyable player to watch in my life (I’m age 43). Messi proabably the best player but in terms of excitement, entertainment, captivating and bringing joy…. It’s Ronaldinho. He helped rejuvenate Barca and I think disrespectful to even say he did not meet potential. He exceeded when he moved from PSG to Barca that wasn’t expected. His problem which I guess was said in this debate is I guess with his skill set he could have won more Ballon D’ors

I don’t think you understand. I believe that ronaldinho definitely underachieved more than Neymar. Why? Because in my opinion I think ronaldinho at peak was as good or could’ve exceeded Messi at some points in his career. But in reality Ronaldinho chose a lifestyle that didn’t benefit him at a football standpoint. I’m not saying Ronaldinho is inferior or not as successful as neymar, I’m just saying Ronaldinho had potential to have way more individual awards.

My angle is before he went to Barca (same year Beckham I think went for more money to Madrid) I wonder, did people expect him to carry Barca how he did? So I’m some ways he initially exceeded. In any case I like good debates (keep it respectful ☺️) so not going to even disagree with you but that’s what I mean.

@@RemofRenaissance Yea, im with tides on that. And Ronaldinho was the most exciting player ive ever watched too (im 32). So the thing is when you think about Ronaldo or Ronaldinho, youre like: "they achieved so much having only 3-4 top seasons... Imagine they had 20 of those - like Messi or C. Ronaldo". Neymar was never one of those top-top players. Sure he could have had a lot better career - but he wasnt Messi, C. Ronaldo, Ronaldinho or Ronaldo el phenomenon (i mean: absolute best of their times).

Ronaldinho started playing for Brazil in 99 at 20 years old. He excelled in 2002 World Cup scoring the wining goal vs England in the semis. He signed for Barça in 03 at 25 years old and performed incredibly for 5 years until 08. He left Barça at 30 years when he could have given us so much joy. He helped Brazil win World Cup, led Barça to back-to-back La Liga in years, won Barça the UCL, and even excelled at AC Milan and was Milan’s best player in 09/10. He could have achieved more but Neymar has more than underachieved.

He joined barca at 23 and left before turning 28. He's one of the best to ever touch the ball but he only peaked for 4 years and lost interest by the end of his barca tenure. He performed decently at ac Milan. Even though he won all.the trophies , I still think he underachieved given his generational talent!! He should have easily won more ballondors

I'd argue that he could have done it longer not necessarliy "more". His peak was insanely high already and maybe he could have gotten better but he definitely showed more of his power unless Neymar who stands still in midfield for five minutes just to flick the ball over someones head. Ronaldinho did his moves to get forward. Neymar just does it for the show.

Bayern ,Juve, Psg dominated 3 leagues so that was no competition zone. Barca,Real ,ATM in la liga. If he joined PL it would be great but they made fanboys and hyped it so much and everyone talks about Messi, Ronaldo

When it comes to Tittles ya he did... But he didn't reach his full prime/peak... he was finished at 27years old in 2007 he was playing for Milan and fat and didnt deliever as much as he was at 2005-2006 Barca days... he was 30 years old during 2010 World cup and Dunga didn't pick him for the Brazil squad.... Some players just decline early... even the Brazilian Ronaldo btw..

Ronaldinho won it all. Even though his peak was short lived honestly we got an amazing 10 years minimum from him when you count his younger years as well. Neymar always getting injured at the worst times is just too much to ignore as well.

At one time Ronaldinho was widely regarded as the best footballer. He also has achieved everything any footballer wishes in their career. He has won the World cup too. Neymar never reached the height Ronaldinho reached.

The way ronaldinho played the game was contagious. Everyone loved him. What he did, they way he did it, they way he enjoyed himself. Neymar is a fantastic player, but rightfully so has many haters. He conducts himself poorly on the field, targeting players to make them look stupid, not to have fun. He irritates defenders with his taunts and cries and flops too much. It can be very frustrating to watch Neymar as the game itself is full of fighting and fouling, while watching ronaldinho was a joy for everyone

This can't be a serious question -- while Ronaldinho did underachieve and fizzled out earlier than he should have, he has won EVERYTHING. Every single thing. There's a lot to consider as well: Ronaldinho played in a brazil team that had some GOATS: Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Cafu, Roberto Carlos....Neymar was surrounded by a lot of younger players and experimental coaches that oftentimes didn't anticipate his genius and creativity. Those goes for both post-2014 Brazil and PSG. I daresay Neymar is even more of a genius than Ronaldinho, but again, that genius is only truly fulfilled if your teammates can appreciate and maximize on it. Neymar's only hope of equalling Ronaldinho's achievements is to not equal Ronaldinho's fate: don't get lazy, don't get chubby, don't let the party life win out. Keep your head down, train hard, be disciplined, focus, but yes: keep the brilliance.

Well, Ronaldinho was more positive, so he attracted less drama on pitch, also had a stronger body. For me, Neymar is more talented, but his body is so slim for today's football, so I really don't think he is 100% guilty. I think the transition of Ronaldinho was more abruptly in his decline, but he had 3 wonderful years so I will not say he wasted talent. I think he adapted more poorly to ageing and tried to drible too much. I he kept it simple and trained as CR7 he would have made it to 2011 at Barcelona wining another treble at least.

Definitely Neymar. No Ballon D’or, no big title with national team. Just a lot of money for doing nothing all season long. At least, Ronaldinho showed the world his full potential at some point during his career. He could do more and gain more titles but when it comes to showing talent, he did more than his little brother. Even fat, he still did great thing at the end of his career.

Has to be Neymar man.. He was the next exiciting wonder after leo. When i saw him at santos, i really felt he could threaten Messi's position as number 1. Even, Messi saw him as the apparent heir of Camp nou, but man left for PSG at peak of his career, he still achieved good career with PSG, but would have absolutely shined the brightest alongside lionel, knowing messi, he would gladly let neymar the reins at Barcelona. I hope.. He does his absolute best and win WC for brazil. That team is stacked.

I became a barca fan because of ronaldhino. As a kid I remember him with the long hair and blue Brazil jersey. I’ll never forget the games he played where he would juggle around players putting on a show. There hasn’t really been anyone that does that…joga bonito on the pitch. Messi still the goat tho

Def Neymar - Kid was a prodigy when he first made headlines all over Brazil. Ronaldinho had a WC, a Ballon D’Or , and helped the Greatest Player Ever (Messi) transition in the Greatest 11 men Football we’ve ever watched (Tiki Take Barcelona) - Neymar could’ve only grown in bitterness after his unfortunate WC-injury exit in 2014 😢 was honestly heartbreaking 💔
