I’m not gonna say that I went through depression but it was sorta like it years ago, I’ve tried to harm myself with knives but I couldn’t do it.. so when I listen to this part specifically “and if I could realise that it’s your blood that I bleed” I just couldn’t stop crying and I’m crying during writing this.. maybe Alec didn’t meant it this way but I couldn’t help not understanding it this way.. Ready to take her to the hospital in the morning, yet he wakes up to her dead body. He started screaming and I ran into the room, to find her cold already. I screamed for her to wake up... She didn't, she was long gone. Mom I love you so much may your soul rest in peace next to your beloved father whom you griefed on. Now I grief the both of you, my grandfather and my mom.

This song made me cry..... And it's been months since I've cried. I can't tell how happy i felt crying out for every pain i feel after all this time. This might sound absurd but I'm very thankful to this song for it did something people arround me have failed to do, console me. me and my mom have never really had the best relationship, my mom loves me but she truly does not like me as a person. i always have so many things i want to tell her and talk to her about, but she always ignores me. maybe i need to speak up but its hard with her. ive tried to hurt myself in many ways and i know my mom has dealt with that too, i want to talk to her about it and open up to her about it, but she always shuts down and never wants to talk about it. sometimes i dislike my mom, but ill always love her deep down lmao. thank you for making me cry alec, you're a god :)

I remember listening to this for the first time and of course I cried, I cried until I couldn’t breath. When my mother and I were in the car, I don’t exactly remember what we were doing but, I asked her to listen to this song and she did. My mother had been pained all her life and so I and my siblings from a situation we’ve been through but anyways, my mother heard it and as soon I heard the lyrics I cried and cried. I felt like I failed my mother, I wasn’t enough. She stopped the car and held me for a good 10 minutes. It felt like the world stopped. It was nice being held by someone, especially by your mother. I felt like she knew my doubts of not being enough. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank for what she’s done in my life. Thank you Alex Benjamin for making this song. It will forever be in my heart, thank you for making me and my moms relationship better and possible.

I recently started to get over my addiction of cutting myself because when my mother saw the cuts she started crying and telling me that she loved me, and to never do it again ..... I wish I had the chance to say these things to my mother before she passed in February. She drank herself to death, heavily depressed with being separated from me and my siblings. I wish I could have told her how much I truly loved her instead of pushing her out of my life. I pushed her away, and my siblings followed. ... I just Instantly started crying the minute I put this song on. Lately I’ve been struggling with things like this and having my life on track. It’s a lot of things. My mothers aren’t even my biological ones (I was adopted by two moms so technically I have three.) And the part where he said “That it’s your blood that I bleed, maybe I could love myself in the way that you love me..” I broke out in tears.. I never knew my Birth parents but I believe my blood is of the ones who took me in. It’s hard sometimes just like Alec said “It’s not that easy.” I just have this sense of rejection all the time; So maybe it would be better if we swapped eyes.

this song hits different, I lost my mom from cancer when I was just 4. I remember doing some terrible things, see; she had trouble walking and needed crutches and a wheelchair sometimes. I remember once I made terrible messes and she had to clean it up, I remember how well she took care of me even on Crutches. She was an amazing mom and I wish I could go back in time to not do any of that bad stuff I did. I wish I could go back and say how much I loved her and appreciated what she did for me. Writing this is making me cry, so before i start crying even more, I'm going to stop. But for those of you reading this, tell everyone in your family how much you love them, because you'll never know when you won't be able to again.
