I love the times when they transformed from sleeves into wings. The most beautiful and creative among all the vampires movies. I wanna see something like these again and again in other series, movies, etc. When I was young I could say I was addicted to this movie. I saw it almost everyday after school around 1-2 years. So disappointed that they didn't make the sequel. 😭😭😭😭😭😭

The main story was completed anyway. Sequel not needed. Although you can always make up more stories, sometimes it's better to stop at the right moment.

i beleive somewhere i read that aleera had a deep jealousy of anna before she turned and when becoming one of draculas brides seeing dracula walk anna as one of his brides made her feel even more angry because the entire purpose she became a vampire was so she could try and be better then anna.

I think that Aleera really envied and hated Anna... just for the fact that in each encounter she insulted, tortured and beat her... also the fact of mentioning that her blood will keep her more beautiful... Dracula wanted Anna as his new girlfriend, and Aleera just wanted to kill her... definitely Aleera was the most evil girlfriend

I think Aleera was also partly in love with her too. She calls her "my love" and there's a deleted scene at the masquerade ball where she can be seen licking Anna's neck, as well as other bits of dialogue that seemed to be flirting. I think she hated and loved her at the same time

I think the vampire trinity is prevalent theme in vampire movies. We have the playful and animalistic blonde, the more mature and serious brunette, and the malicious and bloodthirsty redhead. I noticed that in this movie and also in the Twilight movie with James, Laurent and Victoria.

Aleera is incredibly sly and manipulative, she purposely had the most inexperienced bride Marishka die by having her go after Van Helsing alone knowing Anna is already hers and Verona's primary target. And in the carriage sequence being Anna's former accomplice she knew it was a trap, she pretended to fail and stay in the air so Verona would dive deeper and have zero chance of escape from the stake bomb. Its obvious she wanted to be Dracula's sole bride.

It makes sense, but if I remember it, it was Verona (the oldest and basically the leader) who sent Marishka to kill Van Helsing.

@@gentleheart7107 Thats because Marishka was the only one left on the field, Aleera already went after Anna, she knows Verona will follow as she is the most loyal to Dracula's plans which is to exterminate the Valerious clan and reproduce.

@@VelkanG Interesting...but it kinda makes sense, because Aleera had a feud with Anna, so it made sense she wanted to took her down and was already chasing after her before Verona or Marishka could follow her. Also, she would have been the one who took down the last Valerian. I personally would not want Verona close in that moment if I were Aleera, because I would have to share credit with Verona (like she was not already basically the wife, while Aleera seemed to be more of a concubine). And from Verona it was not very wise to left Marishka there, since their target was Anna (and Anna was very aware of it). If that is true, I think Aleera relied mainly on coincidence.

the brides carried the film tbh edit: all powers and skills Shape shifting, skin that can mimic other materials Bat Form Flight Greatly enhanced strength Enhanced speed and reflex Teleportation Healing factor/regeneration UV vision/heat seeking sight Skills: the most stealthy and mobile of the wives. is good at ambush tactics and using speed to easily overwhelm an opponent. relies on her healing factor to make up for injuries she gets while toying with her prey. Weakness: Sunlight Holy water or blessed substances As with most vampire, a wound or stake to the heart is always lethal. Biggest weakness, too sadistic. Would rather play with food than just win the fight or kill her target.

Aleera was portrayed by a great Spanish actress that I was able to know, Elena Anaya. She has an amazing career, in national and international movies, she was an Almodovar girl a cople of times and participate in more blockbusters such as Wonder Woman where she plays Dr.Poison.
