I miss skating like this. One of the best skates here! The jumps were textbook. Not just the axels but the flip, and that lutz is to die for!! Great artistry! I want late 90s sharing back!!!

Aleksei skated beautifully. This surpasses his long program at the 1994 Olympics.

I'm surprised Urmanov didn't use this performance more often. It was flawless here.

Fantastic performance. I really think he made it work.

@Dylvente Agreed. It was quite an unusual idea for a program but this performance was terrific. I was struck how he made the triple axels (at 0:40 and 2:35) look so easy! - he landed them really lightly and easily and just kind of flowed out - especially the first one in combination.

By the way according to wikipedia he came in second overall behind Ilia Kulik at this competition.
