This does not seem to meet your names policy tbh I would take DIY guitar over musicians who follow particular chord progressions, scales, etc. Because at that point it’s not really original is it? It’s like some art student that learns every single thing there is about painting and then goes and paints himself a picture. A picture that consists of everything they learned in school. Or some person that was never taught art and just picked up a brush and started painting and it turned out to be amazing. I respect the shit out of anyone who teaches themselves something through creative ability and perseverance rather than just getting taught by some teacher and regurgitating that information back out into the world. That’s called knowledge. Creativity has to come from yourself, you can’t necessarily be taught it. People don’t know your mind, your ability to create new things. That’s what’s so special and genuine about it.
