Skolnick is as immensely talented as he is humble and down-to-Earth. Can’t really say that with a lot of his contemporaries in the Heavy Metal world. What a great guy.

The bassist in Alex's primary metal band, Testament, is an INCREDIBLE musician named Steve DiGiorgio.

This is deeply fascinating. You can hear the metal foundation when Scolnick plays, beneath all that jazz. He's an aggressive jazz player. I didn't think that kind of musician existed. But some parts in this set are totally ambient. Brilliant stuff. Damn I wish I was there.
@Metalbass10000 Жыл бұрын
Check out Chris Poland, who was in Megadeth. He was playing jazz, with former Megadeth drummer Gar Samuelson, long before he joined Megadeth. Chris has released music in the metal genre as well as jazz.

I just realized I own the same guitar Alex is playing which is the Godin Montreal. I bought mine because it had the built in Fishman MIDI pickup so I can have an audio out and also a wireless MIDI out which allows the guitar to control external synths as well as plugins in Ableton or whatever DAW you may use. I am NOT a keyboard player so being able to have access to the same sounds that a keyboard player has with a MIDI keyboard is dope cool. I can play my MOOG sub 37 using my guitar which is insanely cool. And if you want to hear the blues jump to 1:33:00 in the video in case you did not want to listen to entire set and hear some fire blues playing. 😎
