Alex was amazing he helped me through chemo and was very honest in an interview about being fine one minute then being very down and sobbing the next. I went through this and thought I was the only one I knew through him I wasn’t. RIP Alex and thank you.

i was so very sad when he died. It was one of the programs that both my mom, who passed away in March 2020, and I talked about and never missed. He was such a gentleman, and it seems like everyone truly liked him as I have yet to hear anyone say anything negative. The last episode with the tribute will be difficult to watch, but I'm sure it will also be wonderful. May his memory always be for a blessing

I've been watching Jeopardy semi regularly since it stared. Will defiantly be watching next week for his final shows & I'm not afraid to admit I'll shed some tears. Man 2020 sucked. Hope 2021 is better. It has to be !! Can't help but wonder how long Jeopardy will go on with out him. The Price Is Right & Let's Make A Deal have been going on since the 60's so who knows.

It's very sad that Alex passed away. He is one of those t.v. icons, that seems to have showed himself quite easily, and people appreciated him for it. One could turn on Jeopardy at any time, for decades, and there he was. Spanning so many years, so many shows, so many people he talked to. A humble person, and a great host.

Bless his heart, he was a great man and he do a great show. Oh I am so sick of hearing people dying with cancer, but I pray that he is in the peace he needs to be in . God bless this man and his family and I don’t even know what it is after we die but I hope it’s peace and maybe just another way of living !

Name of the most amazing, intelligent, kind-hearted, admirable man and warrior...Who is Alex Trebek! I watched him on Jeopardy from the beginning and cannot imagine the show without him. My heart goes out to his family. He will certainly be missed by many.

RIP Alex Trebek, you were a class act (unlike news people at NBC and the today show) -- Ken Jennings makes the most sense as a replacement for Alex, so if he does replace Trebek I may continue to watch.

Filling Alex Trebek's shoes will be a monumental task for JEOPARDY's producers, but the show will go on. If I had to choose a successor, I would choose someone who is smart, funny, and known to TV audiences...Tina Fey would be my choice! I think she would be a fantastic host!

@@Mark-sj3xb When Drew Carey took over from Bob Barker on The Price is Right, the show didn't flop and get cancelled, and I don't see Jeopardy going that way if they don't go for a purely 'brainy' new host. And Tina Fey is so much more than 'a comedian'!

The final episode he taped was October 29th last year, but the final episode airing is this Friday, with a tribute.

Jeopardy *and* Wheel of Fortune are the *ONLY* TWO SHOWS that are 100% *FAMILY* Game Shows. A 5 year old could watch it or a 85 year old could watch it. These shows unlike others do *not* have sexual innuendo... or *down right dirty* answers, like "Family" Feud or Match Game.

They said Christmas Day was his last episode. I watched and was disappointed the only ‘tribute’ was an in memory of text at the end, so it wasn’t the last show??? I’m confused.

I think they are smart (of course, it’s Jeopardy!) to use a series of guest hosts before deciding on the permanent host because no one wants to be the guy to immediately follow Trebek.

They should rename the "Jeopardy!" studio in honor of Alex Trebek, just like "The Price Is Right" did with Bob Barker. I think it will be an everlasting tribute of what Alex contributed to "Jeopardy!" for 36 years. Rest in peace, Alex.

I've watched Alex Trebek for 95% of Jeopardy on ABC Why does NBC think they are qualified to do a story on this It bothers me enough that he is gone It adds insult to have Today do a piece on Alex

Jeopardy was a great show, but I really wish they would put the existing episodes into the syndication market with a portion of proceeds going to an appropriate charity. They have an amazing Brand with a great history. There is a huge risk forcing the show to continue. Similar to 2 and a Half Men. They forced it to continue and damaged it's legacy.

Well, they will not get another Trebeck. The producers should make a decision, and give the new host time to adjust. The producers appear to be wimps. If their choice is political, than Alex will be my last host.

One of the things I won't miss about Trebek is his terrible mis-pronunciations of foreign words and languages. He was just awful!
