About AleXa:
AleXa (알렉사) is a K-pop singer, dancer and songwriter who grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A lifelong dancer - having taken ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop, lyrical and tap lessons since she was just 18 months old, AleXa was first drawn to K-pop because of its strong performance identity. After nearly 1 million fan votes determined her the winner of online talent competition Rising Legends, AleXa signed with Korean artist agency ZB Label, and after once again beating out thousands of contestant hopefuls, was one of the 96 chosen to participate in “PRODUCE 48.” In 2019, AleXa made her multilingual K-pop debut with “Bomb,” which hit #7 on Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales” chart. In 2020, AleXa released extended plays Do Or Die and DECOHERENCE, garnering wins from two of Korea’s most prestigious awards, Asia Artist Awards and Soribada Awards. In 2021, AleXa released Y2K-inspired ReviveR with dance track "Xtra," performed the national anthem for the LA Dodgers, and became the first K-pop artist to host a fanmeeting in the metaverse within action shooter game Scavengers. After a breakthrough comeback with mid-tempo dance track “Tattoo” in 2022, her song “Wonderland” earned a resounding win on NBC’s American Song Contest, a remake of Europe’s hugely popular Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Snoop Dogg and Kelly Clarkson. “Wonderland” ranked #38 on Billboard’s Pop Airplay chart, propelling AleXa to the 6th most played Korean artist on U.S. radio and the first female Korean act to present at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards. It's so amazing seeing where she is now knowing she used to go on tiktok lives and show us her working at a sushi restaurant and dreaming of being a kpop idol. And here she is. Another lady who has an epic lower register, PLEASE kpop stans and music lovers recognize that singing isn't just about high notes, Alexa sounds epic here. Those bv's or vocal synth in the background of 1:00 is gorgeous also

I agree, people don't appreciate and realise the difficulty of lower register notes that make a song work well (another example is Dana of the CSJH The Grace, incredibly developed lower register). This is song is really beautiful.

@@antoingibson5082 IKR Alexa is more seen as an overall dance package of sorts and here she shines vocally :), I have noticed over the past couple of years that the deeper more natural tones have been used in kpop, hope to hear more. Still a huge fan of The grace's dancing queen by ABBA haha

I really hate when artists with talent, potential and work hard with genuine passion for their craft. They know and aren't trying to be Whitney Houston vocally and they know that. @@antoingibson5082 There are a few who have damaged their voices due to screaming out high notes without rest, first to come to mind is of course Taeyeon and Soyeon (T-Ara), after Taeyeon had a good rest she bounced back and is better than ever these days. Sad thing is the companies don't care, they're just the usual money making machine... Hyorin is one of the best lower registries out there and of course known more for high notes and "Main vocal", Yuji is another (Original Exid main and BESTie main). I hope it really starts changing as it's not healthy either. I feel you on finding something that ends up doomed, I have listened since Jewelry back in 2001 and follow nugu more where there is a LOT of talent who don't have the money to bolster it. This was such a gorgeous song! And the surprise English lyrics😍 Oddly enough, the tone of the song actually sounds a lot more like Rosaline (Juliet's cousin and Romeo's previous lover) than Juliet. She basically disappears from the original play after Romeo leaves her, and her story is rarely ever explored outside of the original text, so it's hard to say how she truly felt about the entire situation. But it's always an interesting idea to play with. This song definitely plays up the possibility of the "heartbroken ex" storyline

I think 7 months was too long to wait for a comeback. Ik it takes a lot of effort & she worked hard for this. I'm not criticizing her or her team but over half a year is a long time for new fans to wait for more music. By that time they've probably moved on to something else while waiting & don't even know about this release 😢

I'm glad she got writing credit and all, but my feelings about it are mixed, and if other Troopers feel the same, it would explain the low views. It just wasn't the right song to release right now. The LAST thing we needed from her was Yet Another Weepy Ballad in the vein of Never Leave You Alone, Star, or To The Moon and Back. We needed action, we needed real advancement of the AI storyline, not just sly references, as in Xtra, Tattoo, or Vogue. We needed the thundering horses promised at the end of Revolution. Swords, shields, and maybe sorcery. Knights in armor. Giant Robo AleXa.

AleXa is so fucking amazing, she needs more hype and more notice for REAL. I found her through OTV and I'm so glad I did, I'm so happy that K-pop is reaching more English audiences and that people are noticing the talent and spreading it. People like her, and other idols from different countries like Felix and Bangchan from Stray Kids, or Lalisa from BLACKPINK really just help bring different audiences together, which is one of the points of K-pop. Amazing job!

I think AleXa shows with the song 'Juliet' more her true self than with the most other of her songs. But this maybe a problem for a lot of AleXa-fans, because she shows that she is vulnerable and craves love like any girl and that's not so cool. Anyway, AleXa has a great voice and she sings 'Juliet' so heavenly.
